I have a color correction question: I hope Pixolator and Southern will throw their two bits in. When exporting a rendered image as a .bmp or .psd file what should I use for color correction setting so the color and brightness come out correct? Currently when I export the image and open it in Photoshop it looks washed out and much lighter that the rendered image in ZBrush. I have been using level adjustment in Photoshop and have attempted to use the adjustments in ZBrush but it just doesn't come out looking as good as the original render. Please everyone share their tips on this with me. I know you must face this as well Glen but your images that are posted here seemed to have been color corrected. How do yo do that?

Thanks!

my color seem to be all right far as i can see.
only thing i use photo shop for is "brightness an contrast"..
i make my canvas HUGE in zbrush and i then reduce the image size and canvas size down to sharpen the picture up in photo shop all so.
i wouldn't recamened optimizing a photo that kills the color and over all look..

I have an older version of Photoshop (5.5); in it there's a Color Settings >> Profile Setup configuration window.

This window has settings for "Assumed Profiles" and "Profile Mismatch Handling", for each of RGB, CMYK and Grayscale color spaces.

I have all my Assumed Profiles set to None, and my Profile Mismatch Handlings set to Ask When Opening -- so I can decide when opening whether to convert or (usually) not.

It seems that, in trying to make the digital color world safe for the print artists who have calibrated monitors, consistent lighting conditions and extensive ink profile management settings, Photoshop leaves the rest of us with furrowed brows.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Davey! I am using Phososhop 6. I hadn't thought about it possibly being the color profile in Photoshop causing all those problems! I will give it a try.

That was it Davey! It was the color profile in Photoshop that was messing with the picture. I turned if off and Voilla! Now my rendered images match my saved .psd immages!! Thanks for the tip!!!
