Stupid Question I Know..

I have an object on screen and I want to edit it but I can't seem to find out how to select it. If I create it its already selected but now I'm confused. Where do I find answers to simple questions like this so I don't waste the peoples who are here time.

Hurry for quicklinks and I used my speedy and amazing cable modem to quickly download the wonderful FREE documentation that quickly taught me the basics I needed to know of markers. Its different but it works :). Thanks for all the help people, I'm gonna keep learnin now, bye!
