Modeled, textured/mats, and rendered in Zbrush1.23
No postwork(except my logo and jpeg conversion)
Still learning and experimenting!
I find abstracts a good way to explore.
Thanks for looking!

I like the dark style of this abstract...were you going for anything in particular or just doing a very fine doodling....very nice... :tu:

This is really nice... :tu: :tu: :tu:
As a jeweller, it looks to me like a piece done in Niobium, and treated with electro-anodizing! Great effect!!
Nice texturing, as SC says it appears to be done in the very rare metal Niobium, It also has a colored stone look . The coloring is also right on. Good job.

Thanks Ron!!
Yeah, I was pretty much just doodling! I am not sure if I'm ready yet to tackle some of the images I want to do in Z! I have literally thousands of pencil drawings and sketches I would like to redraw in Zbrush! I feel I have alot more to learn before I attempt anything majorly complex though. I'll probably do more head studies and abstracts for awhile... I find it much easier to learn all the nuances if I worry less about what I want the image to be.
Once I figure out how to do everything I will attempt to add more complexities!
Thanks again for your interest!
Michael

Thanks Stonecutter, DeeVee and Kathy... I appreciate it!
SC- I don't know much about jewelry, Nobium huh, I'll have to look into that some more!
Metallurgy fascinates me! ;~)
That is very cool! :D I like the dark murky quality it has, and color is very well chosen. :tu:

Hey P, Niobium is one of the rare metals...
If you take a paintbrush, attach a wire to the metal ferrule, and attach the other end to a battery, and attach another wire to the battery with an alligator clip attached to your piece, you can paint 'anodized' colors on the metal, which are changed in hue, if you alter the voltage with a rheostat...You use an acidic liquid, which you dip your brush in, and Coca Cola works well...
Change voltage, change color, and the colours, being a change in the metal, and not just a finish, last a long time. (The downside....You knew there would be one, right?), is that Niobium eats tools!
