Hi
I've discovered that ZBrush crashes every time I try to paint a rather detailed (around 70000 polys) model using TM. That is, I hit the "pick" button, the texture gets transferred onto the model, and right before the final transferred texture is shown, ZBrush crashes and a windows message (sth like "The application has caused an error and will now be closed")pops up.
Could this be a memory problem? (I've got 256MB on my machine)
I really hope somebody can help me with this...
thanx
It certainly could be memory-related. Out of curiosity, have you adjusted your Preferences>Mem>Compact Memory setting to be at or just below 256? If not, you should. This will help.

Thanks for your advice, but the setting had been at 256, and changing it to 240 didn't help.
do I have to rebuild the whole model..sob sob.. :(
(as optimizing makes the mesh loose too much detail)
this one really beats me..TM crashes even if I optimize the model (to about 19000 polys), BUT if I take a different model with a way bigger plygon count, everything works just fine....
How can a certain model cause the program to crash?

This sounds very much like the problem addressed in this thread Texture Master! (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=000356)
Matthew and Pix detail some explict instructions on how to correct the problem in that thread. Give it a try and see if it helps.
Matthew- you may want to put that thread in the quicklinks for future reference.

a bud of mine said if you use ::adaptive skin or ::unified skin
:b3:AUVTiles will be auto turned ON.
you will not get promp to get the error if your texture to small.
the AUVTiles must be dislected Before adding the texture :)
