I continue to model in Zbrush but I'm not good in texturing :(
I have just finished this model and I want to add some texture, I follow the texture master tutorial but it's running fast and I can't see the command involved, some good boy can explain me how to do some nice texture plsss :D?

I'm afraid I'm not good at texturing either , I dont use Texture Master though , takes ages to color from all angles :p
I just use Singe layer brush with Zadd off and after coloring it all , I add some alpha bumps and scratches with Z-add on.
Nice model you got there :)

'cause I'm using the demo version I can't save the tools while working...
For this reason i have to do all the work together ;) so I can't sleep :p

hi, Gandalf!

Ron is right: go to z-script>modifiers>replay delay>1000 to slow down the script... activate "show actions" (above modifiers), too. hope this helps and the show runs as slow as you need it - these wonderful objects you are creating really ask for topnotch textures!!!

Gandalf and Namek...using the TextureMaster is quite simple if you follow a few basic steps. First off I flood fill the object with a medium value color let's say green while I have the object in edit mode. Also at this point I will paint in a darker color for my base shadows- just make sure only the RGB selection is highlited in your DRAW menu. Then I load TM and run it. To start with you can just focus on two basic functions in TM- Drop and Pickup. When you have the object in Edit mode and you load TM the only button between those two that you can activate is the DROP button because you will already be in EDIT mode (this is the mode you usually work in right now). When you drop it the object will be "frozen" in place. You can then choose different colors and alphas and use different settings on size and RGB. This is where the power of TM comes in. Once you paint on a texture and PICK the object it will blend the colors into the mesh. You can rotate it and proceed. It seems tedious but you can become quite fast at it if you practice. A couple of things. You can apply a MATERIAL to the object anytime while it is in EDIT mode. If you have a material that has a natural bump to it (see the MODIFIERS for the material) then when you DROP the object and begin painting texture on it you will actually paint a physical bump on it as well depending on how light the color is that you are applying (lighter colors apply more bump). This is an easy way to paint in veins or cut creases or cracks into skin. I hope this helps. You should check out the QUICKLINKS at the top of the page. There are a lot of tips there that could help you with this.

This is the result and it's not a good thing :( I think I'll continue to do models without textures :p

Don't quit texturing just because you got discouraged! This process is all about discovery!! Just think of it like this...you dab a little paint on at a time and build it up to the brightness and coverage you want. Keep the RGB setting low (around 2 or 3). Keep practicing. Textures make all the difference between a good piece and an excellent piece!! :tu:

mentat is right... besides you already learned how to model something... why not take that extra step and play with texturing on your models... this comes to you while your texturing...

Hey, don't give up. The texture applied is a good base to start adding more color to. Try using lighter values of the base color to start. Build those values up a bit at a time until you see something you think is good.
It does take some time to get the hang of TM - but once you do, you will find it a great tool.

Gandalf, those are some awesome models!!
May i ask how you made the eyes completely black? It looks like there is nothing there at all. How did you do that? Is it just textured that way or what?

Here it is another try with textures...

P.s. It's normal that zbrush creates huge temp files and don't delete it when I close the program?

Thnx to all :)

Zuzu I have 640mb ram how I could set the compact mem slider?
For this image above zbrush create a 670mb temp file...
