1. How long will the special offer price ($292.50) be maintained? - I need to know because if the price doubles then I won't be able to afford it (when I get the money).

2. Approximately how many months will free upgrades be offered until the next version where you'll be required to pay?

- Hope these questions don't sound too rude, because I really would love to buy this product. :)

Unfortunately, I don't think that your questions have answers yet. All that has been set in stone by Pixolator is that the next version will come out sometime in Q1 of this year. So that's over the next three months. But he also said that it may not even be 1.5 yet, which is the first "final" version that is planned and the point that the price is scheduled to go to normal. If the next version proves to be 1.3x or 1.4x, then you'll most likely be looking at at least another 3-4 months before 1.5 comes.

As for the free upgrades, all owners of ZBrush before 1.5 will receive them up to and including 1.5. After that, I remember Pixolator saying that upgrades will be available to existing users at a discounted price, but it is still undecided as to what that will be.

Sorry to have to be so vague here, but my understanding is that there are still a lot of decisions that have to be made. At the moment, Pixologic is most concerned with making the best program possible. Once they have it, then they'll better be able to determine the nitty gritties of how to charge for it beyond what has already been said. :)

For the development timetable, I actually have to respect Pixologic's decision to not announce firm release dates. Software development is not an exact science, and too many other companies have turned out bug-infested products just to hit an arbitrary release date. (Can you say "Microsoft," boys and girls? I knew you could.) A philosophy of "We'll release it when it's ready; not before," sounds pretty darned good!
