With all the talk of clothing modelling recently, it inspired me to do this.

Here's a quick ZScript tutorial I threw together showing even another method of modeling clothes that I just discovered.

Mentat on IRC chat clued me in on a little-known feature of Adaptive Sphere modelling which allows you make parts of an adaptive model that are separate from the root model using magnet spheres and then adding regular Zsphere links to the ends of the magnet spheres. I adapted this feature for this clothing ZScript tutorial.

The end result is very simple just for brevity's sake and for the sake of space.

Cute, W/O! :tu:  :tu:

I've been playing with discontinuous skins lately for all kinds of modelling tasks...I'm finding all kinds of great stuff you can do with this method, and will be posting some results soon...
You're right, this is a little-known ZSphere modelling technique...Maybe we should start a 'Discontinuous ZSphere' thread? I'm game! :D ;)

this is an interesting approach to cloth. i like to share the one i use. actually it was not my idea, but i read it somewhere here quite some time ago, but i cannot remember who it was who posted that idea (sorry i cannot give better credit so). i have not too often seen this in use, so i thought you might be interested.

Kokoro you have get a very well inside with the use of ZSphere tool¡¡ not only help me to know a method for making cloth but also and to me a very nice zsphere modeling session, both tutorials I really appreciated a lot¡¡ For me is extremely difficutl without image to imagine how something work¡ I need to see and then I can learn from it. Thats the reason why always I try the artist gave some visual tut to understand how is made it.¡¡ In other field, that is my profession if you want to publicated a paper you must send your technique to be validated and reproduced thats the reason why Im in gratitude with you and other that share his creativity in a visual way.
Thanks a lot¡¡¡

Hehe
2 methods of clothings in the same post
Fighting will be terrific :)
All are rich of learning!
WingedOne method is more than like a task :D
Very ingenious but some delicate to use :)
In any case a great tip in : we can add a Zsphere to a magnet Zsphere ! (not evident :)
http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200309/user_image-1063058989uqt.gif

Kokoro method is more natural
And a new tip in : View size of Zspheres can be reduce during the modeling

Both are win
Viewing a script is always magic
Just a question: is there different speed of recording?
Kokoro script seems more speed than WingedOne ! (of course I play it at maximum speed)
Have happy ZClothing !
Pilou
Ps Of course images are made with the Cameyo's Zplace (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011372) Script (Polar arrays) :)
And personnages dressed by WingedOne and Kokoro :)
5 second realized

Frenchy P.-I think what you've done here is really cool with many possibilities-but I'm not understanding how it was done-maybe more explanation or script-Pilou pleeze?thanx.

andreseloy, yes i know what are are talking about the papers... and please keep asking the artists, as i very often also learn when they explain to you. thanks for doing that.

frenchy, yes mine is more speedy (i knew you would like this ;) ), but i did not want to compete.
actually you can break a zsphere model in parts even after its finished, by alt-clickeing in draawmode on the linking shpere between two spheres. this separates the mesh at this point...

Hi Rhom
No more simple ! (no script recording possible for a demo user
So I will try to be simple :D

It's the Cameyo's Zplace (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011372) who make the work :)
:b3: Take any 3D object
(in the Modifier Tool View rotate it (store it) for a have an "upper view" )
:b3: launch the Cameyo's Zscript
:b3: choice the section Array
:b3: Enter your Radius circle like 200
:b3: Enter your number of repeat (P_item = 16 repeat)
:b3: Press "P_array" That's all !!!
You obtain a multimarkers !
Clear the Canvas, the multimarker is on the icone tools!
Use it as usual!
Draw with it what do you want
Have happy Zplacing!
Pilou
Ps if you are not satisfy of your multimarker, press Remove the Markers in the menu of Zplace script !
Ps Look at this :) (http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez?Who=Frenchy%5FPilou&ViewArticle=4039)
It's exactly the same Concept !
Cameyo has re take the WingedOne Script !

Amazing possibilities isn't it ?

Thanks very much

Hi Andre
You have just to know
:b3: Move xyz = move in pixel on the Canvas
:b3: Scale xyz = scale in integer number 0 = no scale, Positive = growing, Negative= decrease
:b3: Rotation xyz = rotation in ° on each axes
So millions of combinaisons !!! (I can't make board of it
:b3: "Get Status" = Valid actual Position of the volume 3D
:b3: "Snap" = Draw with tracing on the Canvas
:b3: "Markers" = Built the Multimarkers
:b3: "Remove Markers" = Reinitialise the Multimarkers
But all this is visible on moving the Mouse over the buttons

For the Arrays see the post above :)
You will find by yourself the good regulates!
You can also look in my signature the link of articles : many subject are about these crazzy Script :)
Different regulates are showed !!!
And my Gallery with the 25 last posts (always in Signature)

I think that this Script is versatile (as Zbrush :) and it's on using it that you can have fun with it !
You must use it in the vision to manipulate a volume3D with a Keyboard !
So make crazzy frames with any volumes3D is terrific of facility !
(just put any rotation XYZ = 10° is a good beginning :D and Move xy = 10 pixols
Hope this help!
Have happy Zplacing
Pilou
