I wanted to divine what Aurick would be drawing next so that I could copy the idea before he actually had it. I managed to find a javascript that let me enter his computer and after watching his keystrokes for an hour I managed to pull a few of his thoughts together and came up with this....

Hopefully, because I stole the thought before he had it he won`t be to upset. ;)
Aurick, next time we work on parrallel projects we should combine the finished products into a singularity :), 1 image with two artists.
Bed time for loonies :) :) :)
Night all.

Amazing, Glen...Reminded me of a Science Fiction story I have in my library about guardian robots who haunt murderers, and execute them at some random moment...
(See...You're not the only looney!)
As a matter of fact Glen, here in Canada, our dollar is a coin called...Wait for it...
A Looney!
Great piece!! :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:
Another great image southern.'Wish I could be like Mike' more like 'Wish I could be like Glen'

Another great image Glen! Humor in the hands of a talented artist is a fun thing to see! :D

`Meet Mike, he swims like a fish.....`
Cape tutorial will be posted in about two weeks. My two latest BIG projects feature massive capes.
NOTE: No one is ever happy are they. This week I want to be Pascal Blache. Last week I wanted to be Luis Royo and next week I want to be Simon Bisley. Life stinks! Oh no, hang on. No it doesn`t, I just remembered, my life is cool and I`m always really happy. :)
`Grass my friend, is not only not greener when you get over the fence, it`s usually been shat on by a big fat cow.`
You wouldn`t want to be me, you should see my `MasterCard` bill this month !!!!

I think if Frazetta was working with ZBrush, he would be asking you for advice. Nice.

I just bought a book titled "Spectrum 8."
Cover to cover, it is filled with what is thought to be the finest fantasy/sci-fi art created over 2001. Believe me, it is filled with amazing imagry.
I mention this because I do believe that your art belongs in such a publication.
Geez -- I have to learn to stop having beverages around when I come to this site. First Robo and now you: I'm having to replace keyboards thanks to soda spray about once a week now.
Very, very funny story to go with your pic, and a truly remarkable pic to go with the story. This is now one of my favorites of yours. Thanks!
And by the way, it's NOTHING like what I'm working on. heh heh hehhh

Wonderful! Kaz took the words right out of my keyboard. I had been surfing your sight today and looking over the images (for the upteenth time!) for inspiration and such and was thinking that your work looks very much like the style of Frazetta/Valejo. Do you oil paint much? I imagine Z-eeing takes a great deal of your creative time!? Keep up the fantastic work!! :) :) :tu: :tu:
I can't say anything more than has been said already. I keep looking at your stuff, get all inspired pull up Zbrush with great ideas... and fall flat ~G~ Someday...
Looking forward to the Cape Tut.
As others have said Glen this is just a splendid image, it has everything. Thanks for sharing.
BTW what is the size of that image?

I know how you feel Dlee!! Seems like I get all inspired and know just what to do but somewhere between the conceptual process and the delivery the steam runs out and I just sit staring at the monitor asking myself "what the heck are you doing?" Doh! Massive brain farts seem to accompany the use of ZBrush! I suffer from them chronically!!! Oh....unph...duh....just had another one!

This one generated a few questions then hehe..
1. To be compared to Fraz or Boris is a true honour. Although, I don`t believe that I have anywhere near their talent for composition or grasp of anatomy. I take life classes every year or so to improve my skills.
2. I have Oils, Water colours and Acrylics and pastals. All drying up or crumbling as they only see the light of day every few months or so. When I work on a big painting I use pencil on board followed be acrylic. When it is all blocked out I use oils.
But not since ZBrush! I have had photoshop since upgrading from an Amiga to a PC and Painter was one of my favorites. I now find I can create more natural brush effects with ZBrush than I can with Painter.
I am more of an experimentalsist than a purist. You will see that this year I am pushing on with ZBrush full figures as I did last year with head studies. I will play with scenes for a few months then move onto something else. I love learning new software and I like to `fully` understand an application. ZBrush got under my skin and I can`t move on until I know it all and can do anything my mind tells me to with it.
I still haven`t used the Stencil feature, I`m only a rank amatuer with ZScripting and I haven`t yet mad a full figure ZTool. Which I will before too long. I can`t achieve material effects like the Saint does and I`m nowhere near to the modelling skills of LeDiscot.
3. This image was 2000x2000. I model at 1000x1000 (or smaller)with a grey background then create the new document when I`m ready to work. I have default documents set up to speed things up and I always start with about 5 or 6 layers just in case I need them later. If you put new layers into a massve image it can take forever updating.
4. One thing I lack is the one thing I can`t have and that is time. If I could devote the time to these projects then I think I could really take ZBrush to a new level. I`m working on a couple of cool images at the moment, one of which has been in the pot for two weeks now.
5. I have developed a method for painting fantasy background mattes using alpha brushes and the standard 2D paint tools. I will do a tutorial when I`m happy that I can create any sky with it.
See you all later.

Thank you Glen for your insights! I am certain I speak for everyone here when I say they are most welcomed and appreciated! Don't be so shy! I've know a few people in my time who thought they were hot-dang (insert correct expletive here) fantasy artists and they don't have near the talent or mechanical ability that you have!!! Oh and I had an Amiga too! Still do as a matter of fact althoug I can't boot it because the workbench disks are corrupt. :( An Amiga 1000 to be exact. I bought it when they first came out. Oh those were the days...I remember Deluxe Paint well. You remember back when the first color printers came out? LOL man am I old! Anyhoo...keep it up. I am sure there are none too few here that draw their inspiration from your work. I am looking forward to that background tutorial! Live on!......
how could i possibly have missed this one?
very impressive .. again ...
the, umm, *complementary contrast* (is that english? how's that called?) kind of stuck in my head, not an image you easily forget.
