Hello all.
New member here with a question about editing a 3d object.
Does anyone know if I edit an object, and then stop and convert it into a layer... if I want to edit it again I need to 'draw' it out again (it will have the changes up to the point where I stopped editing), is that right?
Well then can I undo any changes to the object after it is redrawn the second time, from the earlier editing?
EG: If I make spikes coming out of a ball, then redraw it, can I undo the last one or two spikes I made?
If anyone Knows the answer, then I would Really appreciate it.
Hope to show you some of my stuff soon.

Hi Wipe, welcome to the forum

To answer your question I brought up Zbrush, created a sphere, put some spikes on it. Then I exited Transform mode and created a new layer. Made another spiky ball and did a few undos. And yes to answer your question, depending on how many things you have done in between you can undo your modelling on a new existance of a tool. Of course if you exceed your number of undos, set in the preference palette or exit Zbrush and then bring it up again you will lose that ability. Also any significant changes you made in between modelling your object will be undone as well.

Just curious thou, why not make the experiment yourself to find the answer? :)

I'm working away from home at the moment and I haven't got access to ZBrush. Thanks for the tip, I was thinking about it and didn't want to wait to get home to find the answer. Also I'm stuck in the middle of bloody nowhere, BORED, and I think that I may be developing cabin fever.
