I would like to know whats going on here?

http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1031276532cnk.jpg

Why is it that when I hair up the model it gets cut off at the edges?
And speaking of edges when I render, it isnt antialiased so the model is more..well..soft around the edges.
Is this a render setting? (I already am rendering in 'best')
Or do I have to use the blur and/or glow brush?

Thank you if you can help.

Peace!

Someone else will probably answer your Fiber brush question, but you should also adjust your render settings...

I use Blur-25, Edge-17, Sample Size-3, Super Sample of 2...You also want the color adjustment button selected, and you should experiment with the others in the render pallette...Hope this helps with your renders... ;)

when using the fiber brush on a 3D object you can use ZADD OFF or ZADD ON.
it will apply only to the object making it apear being cut of or use ZADD the oppasite setting it will apply on the object AND the Canvas so it won't look like its being cut off if i understand you correctly

I used both on and off and still no change...the render settings helped me on my way to find where I wanted to be so thank you for that stonecutter.
But the nice long hairs are cutting off..is it something about auto depth masking or something like that?
BTW - The Head is on one layer, the background is on another...I dont know idf that matters...and what is Baking?...I could never understand what it is for...HEHEE

WOW..one question answered..then there is more

Thank you again

You need to 'bake' the image to get the fibers to go past the edges. You find the bake command in the layers pallette. Look up 'Bake' in the quicklinks section to understand what it's doing ;)

you said cutting off at the edges.

say what?
care to re explain i thought your talking about using the fiber brush on that head but you said zadd ON/OFF no changes, but that makes no sense.
far as i can tell your on another layer like you said YOU need to go to the layer the heads on.

baking ist the process where all image information is turned to flat color (still containing the the shaded rgb).
So basically what you do is - create a new layer, press bake and all what is visible will be assembled in the new layer. (excuse my english - im trying to explain).

This will have the effect that you loose all material properties etc. since all is turned to flat color material. On this layer you can apply the fiber brush with your desired effect.

P.S.: *Special_little_trick* You can also use the "bake blend" slider. If it is set to 100 all color information is turned flat.... but a value of 99% is sufficient to keep all material properties still applied to the image with all possibilities that lie within these materials.
