Hey everyone.. I've been doing alot of head modeling.. practicing various techniques.. And I've been wanting to attach them to bodies.. I've seen some of the great things you can do with Zsphere, which sadly isn't available in the demo. Is there a somewhat simplistic way of doing so in the demo?

I've thought about trying it from a sphere, but haven't tried it yet.. just wondering what some of you thought. Thanks

The most common ways are with a sphere or with a SweepProfile. :)

Generally, people would build body parts out of the 3D primitive that comes closest to the shape that will be created (including the options mentioned by Muvlo).

Once the pieces are modeled, you have two choices. Since you're using the demo, you won't be exporting from ZBrush. So you can simply place each body part on the canvas (using the gyros to scale, rotate and move them). Use different layers for each part and place markers as you go. This gives you better control if you need to make changes. When ready, you can merge layers later (or if you run out of layers, you can put non-intersecting parts on the same layer). As you merge layers, objects that intersect on the same layer can have the seams smoothed out using the Smudge and Blur brushes. Just be sure to keep depth in mind when you position them in the first place, or you could have a head that is 500 pixols behind the body and no amount of 2.5D work will easily blend them!

Your other option is to join the pieces using the MultipleMarker tool. This is very handy if you want to take the whole figure into TextureMaster, but otherwise is actually somewhat restrictive for work in ZBrush. Once joined, you can't reposition pieces in relation to each other. So the other method of just placing the pieces in the picture separately is usually your best option for working with the demo.

Thanks Aurick, your reply is a huge help. I'll take the tips and see what I can come up with, then let the whole world see. :)
