ModelingSuite – new plugin feb 2008, version 1, by EddyL

ModelingSuite is a collection of many different modelingtools for ZB3.
It contains ways to Extrude (like NewGeoExtrude), Curve, Taper, Bend, Flatten, Slice and Combine two meshes: AplusB and AminusB.

HELP

The user can state that he wants to be guided through the process (good for the first couple of tries).
A separate manual can be uploaded.


INSTALLATION

The first zip contains:
ModelingSuite.zsc - the plugin file
ModelingSuiteTemp – a folder which the plugin needs to function properly.

as a seperate zip:
Manual_ModelingSuite.pdf - the manual file


Unzip the first zip file and place the ModelingSuiteTemp and
MedelingSuite.zsc in your ZBrush 3 ...ZStartup\ZPlugs folder.

Feel free to suggest new/other functionalities

edit: Hey Eddy I tried out extrude and got this error... any ideas? I've double checked that I've installed everything as you described.

looks to be another handy addition, EddyLoonstijn! :)

One note: The .zip actually doesn't contain the empty folder 'ModelingSuiteTemp',
but the user can just create it in the \ZStartup\ZPlugs\ folder.

Will play around some more to get the hang of it.

*edit* I'm getting that error message as well, with Flatten and Slice tools.

Sicane: Starnge to get this errormessage, when I'm doing the extrude, etc this Alpha message does not occur. I'll look deeper into this. Maybe you can give me some moere info on twhat you actually where doing. Is it something that happens everytime when you extrude? What happens if you reinstall the plugin one more time?

Wailing Monkey: Strange feat, because when I dwonload from this site I get the folder next to the plug-in. :cry:

Hey Eddy:

I tried reinstalling the plug in but i'm still getting the error. I'm just trying to do a simple test on the base rhino that comes with zbrush. I mask an area and press the extrude button - then that window error pops up.

Sicane and WailingMonkey:
Trying to recreate the eroormessage I dicovered that it has to do with the non availability of an UV in the Rhino-tool from ZB.
So the [Tool:Masking:Create Alpha] won't work, and that the reason for the Extrude and probably Flatten and Slice too not to work properly.

I tried to make a new GUVTiles-UV for that mesh but I get a very weird result.

So, condition: good UV available, then probably it will work as it should.
If not, please let me know.

thanks for the info...I'd just used a sphere_PM3D which had no UVs, so that
makes sense. I'll mess around a bit more with it and let you know. :)
