View Full Version : Racko (first post *gulp*)
Hello. :)
I picked up ZB just before the big version 2 upgrade, and I've been lurking for some months now, absorbing as much as possible from the wonderful practical manual, the daily posts, and the amazing talents in this group. You are an incredibly helpful bunch, too! The atmosphere of sharing and learning by example around here is priceless!
This is the first image I've had the guts to share. ;)
Meet Racko, a styracosaurus from the late cretaceous. Everything but the text is pure ZBrush. 121 welcome!!

Edit: Sorry for the bump...had to correct a silly mispelling.
This is totally cool! I like it textured but the white one looks like marble to me and so would be seen in a museum setting. Very good job!!!

Very funky first post :tu:
Maybe the all gey color a little sad ?
Flashy colors should be more better and joyous ?

Hi Silfox, this creature is great! :) The texture does rather hide your wonderful modelling though...

I had to come back and look at this guy again. You're starting out at Master Level,....No Fair! :p 50.
Thank you for the kind comments and suggestions!
I agree on the colors, Frenchy. One of the reasons I chose to model this guy was because they are often represented as being rather colorful, but the skin did not turn out as well as I'd hoped. I'm kinda torn between the marble look (in the pose test) and (on the opposite end of the spectrum) something very flashy.
So, I will probably tinker with the colors some more, as well as build an environment for him. (Backgrounds and environments intimidate me...time to do something about it!)

Nice 3 step display, Great Model! :)
Keep up the good work!
Will you be creating a line of dino models?
sadicus: Probably. I'm trying to push myself to do themed series of projects because it helps me learn, so I plan to do at least a few others. (Like I need a reason...I never outgrew my childhood dinosaur fascination to begin with. ;))

The white material is that lovely "white dino" shader (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010113&p=2) Pixolator shared a ways back. I find it great for getting a different perspective of a work in progress, even if I don't plan on using it in the final render. Kinda like flipping an image helps you to see flaws and possible problems not noticed before.
