And some more details, 1.8 million polys, over 100 meg file... Getting a bit heavy on my computer... Started with a couple of z-spheres... Actually the fish movie by pixolator was what made me understand the workflow of zbrush. Now it's my nr1 favourite prog!

I like the hornes around the eyes concept, as if they are expressive devilish eyebrows. Great first Zwork!

very nice model, the Balrog has also been a favorite character of mine as well. If I find my model I'll post him in this thread later on.

I don't have ZB2 yet but I believe you can save your model at a lower resolution without losing all your sculpting? This dramatically reduces file sizes.

Any ZB2 users care to comment? - baz

Started doing some painting... Doing the same scheme as the maquette in the art of lord of the rings book. Not gotten to the horns yet.

I just use projection master and use the different alpha brushes for different effects. For the artistic part I start with a light green color for the skin and a pinkish color on the mouth area. Then I paint layer upon layer of detail each time darker and darker. You have to go in and out of projection master while rotating the model quite a bit as there is no real 3d painting, just straight projection painting. But with using shortcuts it's really fast.
