I've been using ZBrush for a week now and loving it but have a few newbie questions on what I have encountered so far.

I am a bit confused by the use of the word 'resolution' with 3D meshes. Would anyone be able to explain to me what resolution means in this context (as co-ordinates aren't 3D meshes resolution independent? - OK, so I'm a newb to computer 3D modelling as well :)).

Given this, what does increasing the resolution when skinning a zshere model do?

Also, what does the Tool>Inventory>Sphere density slider do (I haven't come across an explanation in any of the manuals or tutorials yet). When I increase this and look at a preview of an adaptive skin I can't see any change, or does this option (and Skin smoothness) only work with unified skins?

Many thanks for any answers

Davey, hoping to be able to post a pic soon :)

Mesh resolution is the same as mesh density -- the number of polygons that are present in the 3D object.

The Sphere Density slider, on the other hand, controls the number of connecting spheres between each control ZSphere. The default is 16, but you can increase it to such a high value that it looks like a solid line, or decrease it according to your preferences.
