This seventh tutorial by Ken Brilliant illustrates... illustration! To be specific, it teaches how to easily create a cartoon-like or vector graphics style "look" using 3D primitives.

While it may be taking a new direction from the previous lessons (which dealt with ZSpheres), this tutorial certainly continues the Ken Brilliant tradition of teaching new ways to look at the tools in ZBrush.

:b2: :b3: :b4: Click Here to Download the PDF (408 KB) (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/ZBC/Stylized_Illustration.zip) :b4: :b3: :b2:
Note: You must have Acrobat Reader installed to be able to view the tutorial after unzipping it.

Thank you, Ken!

In addition, we're continuing the tradition of issuing a challenge to all ZBrushCentral members:

Use the techniques shown in this tutorial to create your own stylized illustrations. Your creation can be cartoon-like or even commercially illustrative (such as for a print ad). But it should use the technique of transforming 3D primitives into 2D objects.

We look forward to seeing your results!

Thanks once again Ken and Matthew for bringing us another entertaining and instructive tutorial. :tu: :tu:

I've tried this once before with )to me) surprising success in Paint Shop Pro, but that was using vector graphics/ It will be interesting to see tomorrow how you have gone about it in Z.

Oh, this is just excellent!! Well done Ken!!

First rate! :tu: :tu:
Upham :)

PS. A quick question: What page-size are you building these PDF's in? My printer prints some pages landscape and some portrait. Looking at the PDF, some pages seem to be square!??

PPS. Check out markbehm's website (http://www.markbehm.com/concept.html) for inspiration! Pretty cool.

I'm cropping them. I didn't realize that could change the print orientation. I'll have to watch that in the future.
