I keep telling everyone that i am hopeless at modelling. And I am tired of trashing everything I try. So I kept this guy and really messed him up!! And I am posting him just because he is so awful :p
Yes I have downloaded and watched all the zscripts I can get re modelling - nothing helps...... Hee Hee!

here is a little tip on modleing heads i make my eye and teeth and save them as a tool and add a new layer when i bring them back in to place on the head.
your best bet is when you have a head made try adding texture plus change material with it you will have hours of fun and it will look like a pro did it....
hand painting can be a bit hard so don't stick on one thing explore :tu:
your Frames is Cool

Believe it or not EZ, I did have the eyes and the teeth on different layers. It's the basic modelling of the head I can't seem to grasp. Maybe somedy - with an inordinant amount of practice!!! I think I better go back to painting scenes. LOL!
He Northstar
Don't give up on headmodeling.
Do you have a touch tablet It helps the workflow. Your doing the right things working with layers.

No I don't have a tablet, I use an infared mouse no trackball. I don't know about a tablet. What are the advantages?? I am so used to drawing with the mouse.

You're jyst trying to make me feel better about all the heads I binned in my early days with Z, before deciding modelling was not for me! :D
I'm sure it must (?) get easier with practice, and am now having another go at modelling. However, I've decided to get some practice with less challenging subjects than heads to begin with, and hopefully gradually build up from there. The sad truth though seems to be that it does come easier to some folk than others!
I use both a mouse and a tablet - sometimes together, which is made easier by the fact that I always use my left hand for the mouse and my right for the pen. (I am naturally right handed, but from my very early days with a mouse have always used it left-handed initially simply because of desk lay-out.) I find it hard to say what the advantages are - I think I could do pretty much anything I do with either tool. However, some things definitely just feel more natural done with the tablet, and I find it easier to use with precision for small details. This seems to be especially true of modelling vs. painting. Several of my posted paintings have been done entirely with the mouse, including all the fine detail, and often without zooming - other have involved the tablet to a lesser or greater degree. However, other than just quick experiments, I use the tablet for almost all my modelling attempts. In my limited experience it gives me better control of the 3D tools and is faster - also in my case it's easier to use the Ctrl-Z keys to quickly undo actions (a popular pass-time) since my left hand is then conveniently free.

I for my part did mostly modelling since i got ZB - now i have to start and try to paint something.
Am getting weird results with texturemaster though - but i just read the chatlog from yesterdays meeting and maybe a will try to work more with 2.5 Tools.
Have fun!

Hi Mak, it's revenge time! If you want a laugh at my expense after I poked a little friendly fun at your first head model, check out my feeble effort (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008564) on EZ's Begin Clay Modelling thread.
:D
Thanks EZ for a helpful script. :tu: :tu:
