Hey guys,
I'm currently a senior at Springfield College and I'll be graduating in May 08'. I currently have an internship i'm starting at Xvivo and by the time I graduate I'll be fairly comfortable with Maya/XSI and Zbrush. I'm kinda interested in getting into the game industry since my interests coincide with that kinda stuff, though movies aren't off the list or anything.
So I was wondering what should I expect when I graduate, how hard its going to be to find a job, what to expect for salary and ect. I feel i'm pretty good at what I do for only doing it for a short amount of time and a quick learner if that helps.
My website incase you wanna add anything about it

Thanks guys :D

Should I assume I have absolutely no chance and everyone on this forum is currently unemployed and can't give any advice?

I think not a lot of people would be comfortable giving advice which might have a profound effect on your career. Why don't you PM a few of the industry pros, I'm sure one or two will have some advice if they know you're serious. I've been in the film industry too long be un-bias and my views are bound to be subjective. :)
PS..........IT is a good thing to have 'under your belt'

You should assume that the people who are employed spend more time working than trolling around forums, looking for questions to answer.

For games or movies? What area in games or movies are you interested in? If you're not sure, that'd a better thing to look into as opposed to how much you should expect to earn.

But back to the topic. I actually think that you should (as mentioned) focus more on 1 or 2 of your individual skills. Get rid of these animation samples in your reel and focus more on the modelling and texturing. I like your Texturing best even though there are still some color and shading issues.
One thing that really stuck out was the reel vs. the 3d images. The reel is better than those pictures you have on your page. They kinda bring the overall quality down. I would rather see some more samples in your reel.
If you are aiming for a Job involving Texturing keep in mind that most people (especially in the gaming industry) like to see samples of your textures and UV Layouts (wether you save texture space or not).
Hope that helps.

But I don't like texturing, lol...
But thanks for the advice and I wasn't suggesting ppl were unemployed, just trying to get some answers out of people.
Looks like it worked :D
