This is obviously a WIP just to get the ball rolling. I like a challange as it's hard for me to just do art without it being done for some purpose. I need more motivation!

Excellent idea Pix. I've only just begun this model (I was doodling with Tlillehoff's new sphere tool) as part of the halloween idea, but I will develop it into the Hound of the Baskervilles.

here is a sneak preview of the haloween model i am working on :)

i used Mentat's eyes for doing a quick test render ...
this head has been made with tlillehof's sphere ( you can get it here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008512) )
it was my first try with it, and i have to say that it is pretty cool :)

Just for fun, not my final entry.

I recorded a script for this, but it gets funky at the end. I deleted the parts that don't work right, like the glowing eyes and the lighting. If you want the effect, just apply some colorized glow in the eyesockets and mouth. Piece of cake. Here is the script, if you would like to see how I modeled the main jackolantern. Wow, there are so many excellent Halloween images that everyone is submitting! Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. :)

DLee, you may think this is a funny question, but how did you obtain the subtle pattern in your image's arm? On the cloth, you have a pattern that resembles a corn on the cob texture to me. I like it very much! Haha..

Great image Slosh! I really like your style. The fog and the large moon background gives very effective atmosphere to your composition. Now if only I could figure out how to do that as well as you do. ;)

Art, I had to look back to see what you meant ~G~ The cloth was just splattered colored and smudged into a flowing cape shape, when smudging somtimes the smoothness sometimes gets choppy. Which at times can be a good thing. ~s~ Nothing mystical though. I wish I could sound like one of the pro's and give you exact pointers ~G~ but... alas it's just fluke.

I know all about halloween thanks to the modern wonders of broadcast television but i have never had anything to do with it up until now. this is my entry foxy slayerpatra.Buffy fans note: she is based on the slayer that spike killed, though this is staged a couple of years before.

I did this in 1.23b using the 'charcoal sketch' technique I've been working on.

I recorded a script of it, but it is not exactly right when played back in 1.23b OR 1.51, and playback in each yields different results. 1.23b has steps left out, and it doesn't completely finish. 1.51 has steps left out upon playback.

Jay... Yes this is almost all Zbrush except for the lightning, DOF(Depth Of Field), signature and jpeg conversion which were all done in Photoshop! All of the modeling and the initial render are done in Zbrush1.5.1
The witch's garb, the hands and the reapers robe are Zsphere models and the heads were done with sphere3d... the hat is a sweep profile object!
