This doggie was done as an experimentation with fur. I tried bumping the fur in texturemaster with the fiberbrush but the model only picked up the rgb values.
The irises were obtained from a link on the spiraloid forum:
irises (http://www.claus-figuren.de/3d/irises.zip)
Although the effect wasn't what I intended, it did show that the fiber brush can be used to paint 2d fiber onto a model.

Hey sgbrown,
3D Fur is the most difficult thing in any cg program to create(next to realistic snow or water). If you are planning to use ZBrush as an Illustration program you can execute this very easily. Just setup the object with which you want fur on, then paint over it using the fiber brush(use a very low intensity and build it up). True fur is extremely difficult to implement effectively.(maybe in ZBrush4.5)

thats a lovely doggie - i bet its freezing. you might want to check out the excellent fiberfun tutorial (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000078) to give it some fur :)

Thanks, Sirquadalot for your suggestion. I agree about ZBrush. There are so many useful things you can do with it, it makes my hair hurt! I was aware of your point about the "traditional" way of painting fur on an object after the 3d model is "set". But after I tried this, I read one of the points on the main home page about the difference between the 2d and 3d tools.
I thought that there may be a chance to be able to paint fur on a 3d object while rotating it.

Juandel, thanks alot for the link. It just what I need.
