This time of year is usually very slow for me, but I am unusually busy right now. I've been playing with a new technique recently during the little free time that I have. Thought you all might be interested. I'll explain more later

What an original approach! That's what's great about a relatively new app -- every time you turn around, someone is coming up with a new technique. :)

This pic caught my eye as soon as I saw the thumbnail on the home page, and now that I see the full sized version it's even better. Great job! And another person here anxiously waiting to find out how you did it.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments and sorry for the hit-and-run tease effect of posting like that. In the future I will automatically include a script along with any unusual techniques I use. I blundered into this effect by accident and it is simply based around the "Grd" button in the Tool>Modifiers>Texture panel. When you run this script, plese make sure you turn on the "show actions" button in the zscript panel first. Mosaic .txt (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1008703455uug.txt)
This is as Aurick says, just another way of seeing this program, and I have been very inspired recently by ed_the_atoms very painterly usage of ZBrush. The blend of 2D and 3D is very interesting. Here's another example of the mosaic effect in use.

There's one more thing I'd like to share before I head back into the salt mine. While I was doodling around with this method I did something that I have been unable to repeat. I made a tiled look with gradations on each tile. Here's a close up.

I have no idea what caused this and I am going crazy trying to figure it out. If anyone runs across this same result please remember what you did and let me know :)

Thanks for advancing our favorite software into a new realm! :tu: :tu: :tu:
(The negative color bump alone deserves a good deal of exploration!)
