Greetings Z Brush Community:

I was wondering if there are a number of Z Brush users that utilize this amazing and powerful program for product design? If so, what sort of products, and how do you use the program to create them...any images?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I've included a small pic of decorative hardware I created for a furniture project I am working on. (The texturing was done quickly and easily in Z Brush.) (Rendered in Rhino / Flamingo.)

Thanks.

I know that there are several companies that use ZBrush for product design -- including some of the folks at Fisher-Price and some jewelers.

From talking with them, I've learned that they normally create the model with very high polygon counts and then export it as a DXF file. They then convert this file to a format that can be used by a rapid prototyper to create a real-world duplicate of the model. This prototype is then used to create molds or casts so that the actual product can be made.

Hope that helps!
