Speaking of wallpapers:

C'z made me thirsty! ;)

SO fresh out of the digital world of Visionized:

DiskBlotterZ! The handy dandy Oh so GRANDY way to jazz up that real estate we all call "the monitor".

I'm not kidding C. Your wallpaper made me thristy! :D :tu:

Well this bugs me. I cannot successfully upload or download a zip file to the ZBC server.

So this zip is on Visionized at this link:

DeskBlotter (http://www.visionized.com/imagized/default.asp?CategoryID=5)
I have no clue why I can't make it work on this server. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Building to your specific resolution on the computer guarantees an excellent presentation.

Maybe another consideration is using colors that help in making your icons viewable.

I run a transparency on my icons so the words use the background as it's color.

Otherwise...get nutZ! hee hee

Kathy,
Love the way the octopuss is recessed into the ice/gel like material.
Any tips on your method?

Nice work Kat. I like your Octo. I also like the frosted look. You did a great job, I do not use wall papers.

The ice/gel/water is 2 Terrain 3D tools with the same texture.

The first is set to highest H/V divide and made flat. I applied the texture and an alpha for a 50% inflate.

I put the Octoguy in on the same layer.

New Layer.

This layer has the second Terrain3D )which is again set the highest H/V divide), but this time in the initialize graphs I set the profiles wavy like the ocean (both H and V) I made sure the outside edges were pointing down at a sharp angle. I then placed it directly in the center of the piece behind the octopus and "pulled" it forward until only a certain amount of the octopus was showing. Set the transparancy to 65%. Metalicity to 24%. Rendered. Saved.

:D

Hi Kathy! That wallpaper has a very nice effect the way you created it. It really gives the illusion of 3D for the octopus, like it's coming right out of the monitor rather than sunk into it. Very cool!

That 3D no-gravity water block is definitely a fine piece of eye-candy!
