Sure. Simply Export the resulting tool as an OBJ. Bryce will import it.

Thank you very much for your response.
An error happened when I tried to import the objects (an object by me, and also the terrain by Pixolator) produced by the Alpha Century method into Bryce. An unexpected error(out of memory). But, the file size is less than 1MB.
I could import the wolf object into Bryce from Poser. Therefore, Bryce should be working.
I also tried to import the terrain object into Poser. It was working.

Do you have any suggestion?

Thank you

I don't know what's happening to you, then. Unfortunately, my experience with Bryce is minimal, but I have created OBJ's in ZBrush for a friend of mine who uses the program without trouble.

Maybe someone with more B experience can help you out from here...?

HimiCo,
In an older thread Pixolator had created an applescript conversion utility for Mac that allowed ZBrush OBJ Exports to be imported correctly into Poser and likely Bryce too.
Follow this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001338)
Here also is a question posed by Southern on how to get ZBrush to accept Carrara OBJ Exports.
Pixolator gives the solution
Carrara OBJ Solution (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001035)

In the meantime incase you work on a Mac here is that utility
ZBrushOBJTyper.zip (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1011885416ddd.zip)

Thank you boozy, I followed the thread. I have a window 98 computer.
Cricket mentioned there “Z objects also import fine into Bryce so you could use Bryce as a 'conversion' tool also. But I've had no trouble using Z objects as morph targets in Poser.”

Do Z objects import fine into Bryce ?

Did anyone else have the same problem as I had?
Dr.jjwow, do you use Mac ?

I just bought ZBrash a few days ago. I have a long way to understand it.
This (Z object to Bryce) is important for me. I really want to solve this problem.

Thank you for your help.

Hi, I do not know if this will help, but it may :)
I have found that sometimes .obj files that will not load properly into various aps,can be "fixed" by simply opening them into UVmapper (free software found at uvmapper.com), and saving it, without any changes. It is one of the great mysteries of life, but it is easy and cost free, so give that a try before you loose hope :)

Dear HimiCo,
Try here also for Bryce help, tuorials and suggestions.......
Brycey Nicey (http://www.3dlinks.com/tutorials_bryce.cfm)
There's a whole section dedicated to other App issues here at the QuickLinks section in the navigation bar above,in the meantime
Here's a wee piece by Pixolator on the subject of Morph Targets:

When creating morph targets it is important that the polygons count and order will remain the same as the original object. When importing a OBJ file, ZBrush may attempt to optimize the mesh by removing unneeded points and polygons and converting triangles to quadrangles whenever possible. When importing a mesh that will be later used for a morph target, you need to set the TOOL INVENTORY TRI2QUA to zero before you import the mesh. Setting this value to zero, will allow the mesh to be imported ‘as is’, further more, you may freely edit and deform the object in ZBrush but you should not use any function that may add or remove polygons from the mesh (i.e. do not subdivide the object).
-Pixolator

P.S Most computer Mags have great free give away 3D Apps that can convert your files.
Amapi is a useful one as are many others.
Or search online for freebies or shareware.
I've only got Bryce 4 this imports many 3D formats but only exports models in it's own native format.
It will however export terrain or lattice objects in many other formats.
Don't know about Bryce 5 perhaps another member may illuminate you on that one.

Hi HimCo,

As the guys-n-gals say you can do it. The big problem you will have to overcome is that Bryce cannot support the exported .obj if it is too big.

A fairly low mesh-resolution object from ZBrush kills Bryce. Before exporting use the TOOL>MODIFIERS>DEFORMATIONS>OPTIMIZE button to reduce the mesh resolution and thus reduce the number of polygons. If you have a problems doing this let me know and I`ll check it out for you.

The Carrera problems was to do with the way Carrera wrote the TEXT files I think. Ofer sorted that one out.

Cheers,

Glen

Guys-n-gals, thank you very much for your kind help.
Thank you Southern, You are absolutely right. I did what you suggested, and it worked!

Thanks again, I am happy .
