Ok everyone here it is the water effect tutorial. Try it out and have fun. Any further questions are welcomed and remember, have fun..
A few notes:
Included is the water texture I created. The origional that I used was a 5000/5000 sized document weighing in at a hefty 54MB. So I've enclosed a smaller copy. If you *really* want to create the same resolution and effect of the water, simply open up the texture in Photoshop(or an program alike) and create a new document along side it. Create the document at a very large size, 3000/3000 - 6000/6000 which ever you like. Once created go back to the water texture select around it and copy...... then paste within the big window. Now copy again and again and again pasting them along side each other untill you have covered your entire huge document. You may want to touch it up a little to get rid of the seams for a more polished effect.
Also, the white space in the background that i've left is where you add the noise with your blue and greens. The reason this was left out of the tutorial was due to the fact that it takes a good few hours to create somthing as polished as before and its basically pretty straight forward. Next time I create a scene like the previous i'll be sure to create a ZScript for you. :)
So play around with this, see what you can come up with. I'd love to see what you guys produce from this. Remember you can adjust the height of the waves in which ever manner you like, and you can also pick different materials, just have fun and cater it to your likes.
