This was done mostly from a unified skinned model, with the exception of the scarf and the halter top which were modelled from separate objects.

To model the brim, I masked off the hands so I couldn't alter them by accident and then used ZAdd and drew a raised line where the brim would be a few times and then I used transform/move.

More work has to be done on the ears, for one thing.

It's still far from finished, but, as always, any 121 welcome.

Here's an image of the ZSphere model and the un-modified unified skin model.

great looking project, WingedOne! the only :td:, imho, is that the given POV makes the leg on the box look flat (but then it looked much stranger when i just sat like that in front of a mirror :D). maybe a cushion will help.

Here's the latest update. Added some additional details using the layer brush, the simple brush, 3d alpha, and other 3d tools such as the cylinder3d, sphere3d and ring3d.

The background is just temporary until I come up with something better for the background.

As always, 121 welcome.

nice :) whats the advantage of unified over adaptive?

well basicly they both have their good and bad points ...

You just have to use what suits you most. if you're going for a low poly mesh to animate perhaps , you really have to go for adaptive skinning.

If it's for a still image (and you have some RAM) you can easily go for unified skinning.
The advantage here is that your zpshere skin will be very close to what it looked like in zspheres. But if you want to use adaptive skinning , you're gonna have to be carefull with positioning zpshere's and check now and then in preview mode that your mesh is still clean ...

Love it W/O...(I was just waitin' till you were a ways into it to comment! :D )

These are SO cool when you get them to this stage...As you may know, I'm getting a Stereolithographic printer together when I get the financing done with some carvings I'm doing now, and when I see these, all one color, I always think of them in the real world!

Of course, when you start texturing, and painting, this is going to become wondrous!

Here's the latest update (12/21/2003). It's too late to edit the title of this thread, (darn :( ).

Thought it was about time to get back to this one.

Started to work on coloring and texturing the model.

As always, 121 welcome.
