Greetings,

I've been refining my modeling technique with Z-spheres.
Here's my latest spoon http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200304/user_image-1049992226thu.jpg

Hi there!

As you continue to advance your ZBrush skills, you will probably enjoy using the various modifiers in the Light>Shadow menu.

Turning ZMode on will make your shadows much more realistic, while increasing the number of rays and adjusting the Aperture will allow you to make the shadows as crisp or soft as you wish.

Aha! Thanks for that info aurick. Shadows are the part of zBrush that is giving me the most trouble. (and maybe the overall lightning ;) ) Are there any special tuts or lightning setups that I could dl and study? I have found some at the Central but that does not seem to be enough for my brain. :( My main problem is to get the shadows dark enough. Trying to lower the ambient light to zero and keeping eye on the material diffuse/ambient parameters will do somewhat, but I sure would need to study this subject more. Can someone recommend any special tut or something that I may have missed? The ray count versus the aperture stuff is certainly something that I must look into.
