hi everyone. here goes;

as usual, I'm not commenting in the script. in case it's hard to follow, here's the process;

make a square plane and snapshot a few long triangular prisms on it, in such a way as to form a squares pattern.
then, use the MRGBZ grabber and drag from the center of the square plane outward, so that you grab a square texture.

make a cylinder3D object, and apply the newly grabbed texture to it, by pressing on it in the "Texture" tab.

then, in the Tool-->Modifiers--> Texture subpalette, increase the horizontal and vertical subdivision, so that the texture fits the cylinder as it should.

nothing to it, really.

have a go at it;

this zscript is rapid, and hopefully helpful. ( the zscript results in a straight pipe, not a bent one - I figured the ztool would be far more useful that way)

That is a great-looking hose, Chris. I have an upcoming use for it, as well. Thanks for sharing the technique!

You really need to start notating these scripts -- and easy one like this would be great to cut your teeth on.

Hi Chris, I tried this at work a couple of times and I kept getting an error message about a 3Dplane copy 1. I was just about to cry out for help but I tried it one more time here at home and it works perfectly. This has a very genuine look to it . Don't be surprised if you see this hose popping up a lot in future images. I had no idea that you could make a cube into a triangle. Good work man. :tu:
