Dazzling Alien Artifact, Blackie. Let's see where it goes.

Very nice-love the surrounding rock texture.

Looks great.. I like the semi hidden alien hieroglyphics and the texture on the edges of the corrosion on the artifact.

Thanks for the comments everyone! ;) :tu:
Keep em coming!
Here is a change to the GDI and the dirt diffusion. Some info...all ZBrush of course. Tons of simplebrush work. No textures really. Just a bunch of painting. Articact has about 3 or 4 materials in it and 2 for the dirt. The alien text was an afterthought, made possible by a custom stencil. One light.

Excellent image! Looks great as is, but I know you plan take it even further. Love the distressed look of the space alien relick.
 :tu: :tu:
that cool you should put some archeology tools around it like for what they use for digging up dinosaurs :tu:

To Mentat, Thanks for showing us all that cool plant script. This grass is a modification to that process. :D :tu:

Looking really good! X-Files, anyone? :)
121? Well, the picture is more or less fully functional as it is. Maybe the metal looks a wee bit plasticky now.. perhaps some reflections on the 'clean' parts could help? (unless it already has them :o )
Looks good, Mahlikus. :) You could put some extra details around the artifact- I'm thinking maybe some shrivelled leaves, possibly some moss on the rocks on the bottom right. :tu:

Thanks grub!
Yep, a bit more details still left to tackle.
Slowly but surely.
Hey Mahlikus, looks like a wild jeep, at wild savana just walk on this...this...what is this? Talking `bout that mark on chest.
omg more please ;)
Looks like you're WELL on you're way to achieving what you set out to do. This pic is uber cool.
Leaves, the alien, rocks and everything are splendid. :tu:

Thanks again for the comments. :D
Here is a test. Made a brush in Z with ZSpheres. One zif to make a bristle unit which was then combined with about 12 others. the handle was a single zif. Guess you could say it IS a ZBrush. *cringes at bad pun*

Hi MtB
I think that your brush must go in a little White Spirit for dilution, bristles seems sticked by the paint :D
Great simulation
About your Artifact do you know this Artist ? (http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=ocddoug)
He has made hundred collages on the same thema, lost figures on many situation (explore his recent posts)!
Don't hesitate to Zoom picture, as usual the thumbnails are reductive in rapport of the real size!
Have happy Surfing

fabulous stone/earth materials, Mahlikus! :tu: :tu: :tu: i prefer the second last render, though, i think its the fact that the one eye is gleaming is confusing me in the very last one :) your ZBrush rocks :)

I think this looks better. even though gold is cool, this alien metal looking this is a bit more dynamic. Also, I think I am going to stop fiddling with the render.
Which do you all like better?

Cool! Hey, why not add the brush to the Artifact picture? It would suggest that this is an archaeological dig in progress. :)

Thats eaxctly what I had in mind...I am just reworking the bristles. ;) :tu:
Great work MTB, I like the previous one better (without the critter). Maybe add a hand holding the brush, not the whole arm just the hand with a sleeve rolled up? And a little notebook, half open with small sketches and notes scribbled across the pages :)
Anyway looking forward to see where you take this :tu:

Your changed lighting added a lot of depth to it. I like the silver with the inset eyes the best.
