Hi everyone,
I've started this model many time ago (2 years), and now i want to finish it.The base model was made in maya, zbrush 3 for rig/pose and sculpting. At this time I've almost finished to detailing the head, and now I want to start with the body. It's still work in progress, i hope you like it! Comments and critique are welcome
PS
I know, this character is not original, I've see many models of cave troll, but it's one of my preferred characters of the LOTR!!

matte3d this is very impressive,

It stands in my eyes as an out-standing example of detailed/realistic wrinkle modelling. On the neck around the empty eye socket and indeed the whole face. And it brings me to think again how important this element of modelling is to the realism of the work - and also how much I am lacking in this area.

Can you recommend any authors/books/material on the subject of the theory of modelling wrinkles? and maybe even something that covers the theory of believable detailing in sculpting?

Thanks for sharing your work,
Kircho

KirchoWow, thnk you so much, but I can't recommend any book, because I don't have any!! I have some books on human anatomy, but any book on wrinkles modelling. Sharing my work with you is very important because it allows me to compare with more experienced artist.

Solidsnakexxx, dan02, The Cheshire Cat, jonnibravo -------> Thanks

This is the last update

This is looking great. I almost wish the scene was extended a little with a couple of archers who are firing the arrows. :tu: But defintly two thumbs up.:tu:

...That must mean you have grasped at least some of the principles of sculpting wrinkles and details sub-consciously - some other 'heads' might call it , having talent(in a particular area).

If you don't mind the suggestion: while your modelling wrinkles next time introspect on the process and try to exract some explicit principles. I suggest it will assist you in getting better, faster - better, more consistantly.

Good sculpting,
Kircho
