View Full Version : Marsh Land
This is an experiment done using an oval shaped brush. First with the spherebrush to try and lay in the water of the Marsh, then the fiberbrush to try and paint the weeds. Very interesting results which I thought I would share for suggestions and comments. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1011664201bkx.jpg

I think you might have too definite a brush shape in your water, Doc...
The weeds are amazing! They look like they'd be nice to run your hand over! :tu: :tu: :tu:
Thnks SC. Maybe if I let you know what I was trying to depict you can help me to get there . I take your point about the hardness of the brush stroke I wanted to show very clear water with rocks showing on the bottom

i likes it. it looks like a creek rather than a marsh but it looks good all the same. maybe so brighter lights or something would give it a more "nature feel" to it. BTW.. i love your scenes, they are so beautiful. keep 'em commin.

One thing you could try to make that more evident, DeeVee, would be to use the shading enhancer brush to create the effect of light on top of where you want the surface to appear....Just a thought. There are ways of doing this in modelling, and you can do anything painterly with ZBrush as well!

very nice for an experiment...what settings are you using fo ryour weeds..I like how yer clumps come out...I was thinking that would also make a good moss for like those large of cypress trees in the deep south....
Ron: for the weeds I start with the darkest colour and then moved forward, adding light as needed and enhanceing with needed colours. I used an oval brush the diameter of which I varied. You just have to play with the settings.
SC: I will do an update using your suggestion and see how it comes out. I think you are forceing me to model. You have seen my modeling efforts, believe me I would much rather paint. I pledge that I will surprise you one day soon.
As always your experiments are a joy to look at, a real treat.
I think I'll reserved thoughts until a later point....I'd like to see where you are going first. ;)
I really like! :D :tu:
Before I attempt to do the update, RH asked how I did the grass, since it was an experiment I just doodled to see what would evolve. I have done two ZScripts to better explain my methodology. I know that this information may be available elsewhere but this is my method which I am sharing. it appears to have all types of possibilities depending on settings. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1011669012gjh.jpg Grass.txt[/ URL] http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1011669130oxw.jpg [URL=http://www.pixolator.com/ubb/uploaded_files/user_file-1011669160jaa.txt]Fiberbrush work.txt (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1011669050qnh.txt)

Both of these are amazing! That is some incredible fiber brush work, Doctor, and if I wore a hat, it would be off to you!!!
:tu: :tu: :tu:  :D
SC I tried the shadingenhancer, and it did not do the job, the image lost its crispness, remember this was only a doodle that turned out this way. I will keep experimenting though, when I think that I have got it right I will let you know.
Thanks for the comments on the fiberbrush work. I just love playing with the settings using the different tools and see what happens. Please Let me know if the Scripts work OK.
