View Full Version : Grab shell dude!
Wip of a sea turtle I built for use in an underwater scene, 3k polys, about 3 hours work. Base mesh in max, everything else except for the render in zbrush. Still needs to get a very basic rig so I can animate it and it doesnt have a normal map/proper displacement yet.

Hope you like it :)

Good model and texturing. He still looks a bit mirrored from the top and it looks like there is a bit of stretching on his flipper but that might be due to the missing of displacement and normal textures. Keep going! M
:D
Your textures are good….
Thanks alot for your comments.
I agree completely with you maxim, the entire model is in fact still a bit too symmetrical, but that will hopefully change a bit after its rigged, the shell is supposed to be symmetrical though because it is on all the references I looked at, maybe I should make some dents and barnacles to break that up a little..The stretching of the texture on the "flipper" (for lack of a better word) is because the model lacks geometry at that place and I used colorise to paint the textures (its about half hand painted, half done with project tool).I might redo the entire model and fix the geometry or more likely just run it through zbrush2 and zapplink and fix the textures in PS because its just going to be a prop in the underwater scene Im making anyhow.
Thanks for your comment askue, I really like your toadscene so its a big compliment to me ;)
Im quite happy with how the textures turned out, especially considering the short time I put into them..Zbrush feels (a bit) like cheating at times, some stuff is just too easy :P
