Not sure if this has been covered . its my first tutorial so please forgive the bad layout .......here goes anyway
displace texture.jpg
1 . Create your model with bumps, cracks, ect
2. Create a Displacement map of your model and export it from the alpha menu and then import it into you favorite image editing program.
3. change your displacement map mode from greyscale to RGB and change it from 16 bits to 8 bits .....or it turns out really weird (Trust me ;))
4. Colorize your disp map to any colour you choose .
5 Adjust the contrast and brightness to enhance dark and light areas to taste and save your new texture map
6. import into the texture panel in zbrush and chose a suitible material such as the basic shader
7........You now have a texture map that exactly matches your model ......with a few tweeks this can be a very good way to start the texturing process....
Any questions are welcome
Cheers
