I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, at least for a couple of days ;) I have a short break between projects so here is a small treat (for me at least! ;) ) I present to you "Hellbent" because....well...I was hellbent on doing something in ZBrush before I go crazy! I will work in earnest and try to get another project done before I hit the old grindstone again.

Great mix of ZBrush and Poser! You've created a knock-out scene here with a lot of character. The colors are great, and so are the details. Excellent vegetation, too.

 Very good job. Is it anybody else anxious than me to get his hands on Zebrush v2 or maybe v3 ,v4,v5 . I am very curious to see what the new features will be.

Let us hope that any new version will be full of new feature Codexus. This will make the big guys (3dsMax , Maya, Lightwave) a little afraid he,he,he,he! :(  :) :D

Just a couple of footnotes:

The figure is the basic orc morph for poser from DAZ3d...so are the wings. The skulls are a ZBrush tool that I downloaded from Southern's site. Thanks Glen!

The skin texture is a custom texture I created in Corel Textures (a very cool program for creating textures of ANY size!!!) The eyes are nothing fancy...just bright yellow spheres with a black dot painted on. I created the dead grass with the fibre brush. The coarse hair on the skin is also created with the fibre brush. I am really loving the Fiber Brush these days. The vine was painted with the 2d brush and then modified with the snakehook brush. The rocks are basic sphere tools that were deformed. The background...well that is actually fog render activated with an alpha loaded in which gives it that red whispy eerie look. The blue was painted on a seperate layer and then brought in closer to blend with the fog depth (I used about nine different layers). I used all of the available lighting in this piece! I changed the depth settings on the Depth Render to get it to blur only parts of the body. The highlighter, intensity, shadingenhancer, noise, and depth brushes were also employed in this piece. Basically I used about 75% of the available tools and at least half of the deformations available. The only thing I didn't use was the TextureMaster. Why? Because I knew I was going to zoom out and the figure would be smaller thus all the detail would have been compromised that TM would have generated. All of this in about 4 1/2 hours!

Some things I wish I could do:
I wish I could use light objects (like in Bryce) that could be placed in the scene just like any other object. I wish I could convert a tool from one kind into another. I wish I could use volumetric lighting. I wish we weren't limited on the number of lights used in a scene. I wish I had more time!!!!!! :D I say this here because I already used up my wishes in the Make a Wish forum! Peace!

Mentat7,
I am so glad you found time for ZB :). I love the background, your texturing the fog the entire piece came out great!
Thanks so much for explaining how you created it :).
