Now this has probably been asked already, but I must not be searching for the right things..

Now let's say I make a head, or whatever, and add a marker to save the tool.. Now HOW Do I paint on texturing/color without LOOSING the ability to rotate and modify the tool?

Thanks for undulging a newbie..

Hi Dave,

Please download the TextureMaster ZScript:

TextureMaster (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=002034)

Yeah I would do that, except, as I explained to Auric, I inherited this from a former colleuge that only had 1.23.. so TM won't work.. I'm in the process of getting the money scraped together to buy my own license for this.. but in the time being.. I only have 1.23..

Unless Pixol want's to give me financing to order.. *smiles*
Us poo folk ya know.. :)

There are two non-TextureMaster techniques that you can use. They aren't as versatile, but each has its uses.

First is the 3DCopy method taught by Pixolator in 3DTexturing Made Easy (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000124). It allows you to put an image of some kind on a lower layer and then copy it onto the model above.

The second method is something called vertex shading. In Edit:Draw mode, click Color:Fill Object. This fills your object with the currently selected material, color, or both (depending on whether you have MRGB, RGB or M selected in Draw). Next, with Z modes off in the Draw palette, you can select other colors and paint them onto your object. The higher your mesh density, the better your results will be -- but you can always optimize after painting to reduce the polygon count to a more manageable level. The texture at that point won't be affected.

Two powerful tools can help you while you're using this technique. The first is masking. If you mask your object and press Color:Fill Object again, the unmasked areas will be filled while the masked areas will stay as they were. The second tool is the Stencil, which you can place above your object or wrap around it and then paint through.

No matter what, remember that you cannot leave Edit mode while doing this to use another tool or brush. If you do so, your object will be snapshot to the canvas and will no longer be editable as a 3D object.

:D Yup that's pretty much my problem.. when I go to grab a "brush" I get snapshotted.. ;) and that what's frustrating me.. I'll take a look at these Auric, thanks mucho.. :)

Ps.. I'm trying to come up with a good Image for my new Website .. so hopefully I can come up with something.. :)
