Hi everybody, i would open a thread about the workflow of model a hand or foot or a body.In this way we can share tips and prevent headache about our tecnich.
I know all the difference between adaptive or unified but i see many different results.
i love model with unified skin, but the final of the hand or foot give me a strange results.
I have read all about hands in the quick links but i would hear what do you think about this.

Hello Leo,
Perhaps these Zscripts will help you with your adaptive hands and feet: Click here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010905)

I made these scripts for this purpose entirely!
Best regards,
Michael

Here is a hand I made using Adaptive:

I edit the ZSpheres and created the Adaptive mesh. Then I edited the points to get the right shape. Then I divided and smoothed to get the higher-poly version. The editing process is made easier by setting the Smooth options to high, and then switching between the Smooth version and the Polyframe version (F key). This lets you see what it will look like after you do the Double and Smooth. Also, it may not really be necessary for you to Double the mesh, if it looks good enough when you set the smoothing options. In the case of the hand, the only reason to Double the polygons is to continue to refine the model and add details.

There is more here. (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008553&p=2)

Hi Marciani, when you make a unified mesh it is best to have the Tool ::Inventory ::Auto Size option On. If it is Off, then anything outside the Tool ::Object Preview window is ignored. If you look at your figure in the Object Preview then I'm sure you will see the head and hands are not visible.

:) marciani, i agree with tveyes; i 've observed, don't understand why, that if i wish a different setting than the autosize, say 256 resolution and 10 skin for ex., it works if i do first an auto size unified skin, then the setting i wish; i know, it sound like mad magical explanation... on an other side, fingers very thgin can be non "matched" with the resolution -sizez setting, and you have to inflat or flat these fingers... amitiés M.

Hi Marcel, I think you misunderstand the purpose of the Auto Size switch, or maybe it is me :) As I understand, it has no influence on the Resolution or Smoothness setting. All it does is resize the Zspheres so they fit within the Object Preview window. The calculation of the Unified mesh seems to depend on this.

If you don't want to use the Auto Size switch then just use Deformations ::Size until the object fits in the preview window.
I leave the switch on all the time.

That is how I understand it :)

:confused:garggle tveyes, i suppose you're right! i'll try, but i was sure (!) that the values coming with autosize was automatic...thanks for the tip...M.

Tv eyes and Marcel, thank's a lot; I've mixed your info and i've obteined a clear mesh.Probably the best thingh is setup the resolution very hig or max(256)....
This is a ten second example: http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200305/user_image-1053273551wtp.jpg
