Sorry to have been away so long but I have been working on a number of big projects. The main one is creating concept art for a game called Realms of torment (http://www.realmsoftorment.com) that is due for release next year. So far I have used ZBrush for 95% of the modeling and texturing as can be seen in these posts. I have also started work on a small animation of a Dragon and that was textured in ZBrush.
Remember my Orge Mage? Here is the textured version that is being used as reference to make th low poly equivilent in 3DS max. This one will also feature on the front of 3DUser in Taiwan.

THe nDragon I built was based on the ZBrush one I created months ago. I used UV maps from LIghtwave taken from the model to make templates that I painted ZB textures/materials onto. Here he is...

and a couple of test anims (these are early tests!)
anim 1 (http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/uploads/close%20up8.avi) and 2 (http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/uploads/close%20up6.avi)
ot brilliant but a start. :)

Glen,
On behalf of all ZBrush users who are struggling to make quality images, I beg thee, publish a process book of this job.
I'm sure it would be a bestseller.
In the mean time, I'll wait for the Torment! :D

first of all , it's great to hear from you again.
I can understand why you've been away for a while , it sure looks like a lot work.
The textured ogre looks great , but there are some weird colors on his tummy :)
All concept art images are nicely detailed and have great expressions , one of them looks like some guy from LOTR (not the one who died in the first movie , but the other human knight , I forgot his name :p)
I like the concept of the 2 versions for the angel / orc / demons :)
The Dragon looks really great , but I havent downloaded the animations yet , my connection (56k) is a bit slow at the moment.
Request : i was wondering if you could post a large image of the ogre model in Zsphere form , I'd like to learn how to model a creature like that with adaptive skinning.
Until now I have only managed to make full creatures that have to be detailed by unifies skinning :(
Greets ,
Kevin
EDIT : I have seen the animations now , great sence of speed and angle in the first one , the second one has some frame problems , but thats probably my cpu , anyway did I say the dragon looks great ? :p

You know what glen, denture cream has it right...you should be the one to write the first ZBrush Bible. You and Ofer and all the other exhibitors!!!
We need some of those high end skills on paper!! ;)
I agree with MTB, this kind of work is what I hope to one day do. I'll probably buy the game just to see the animations :D
Awesome images

love it all but the animations..for some reason I can't view them..everything i have says either wrong decoder or wrong compressor....even my aol player wont do it..I used updated media player and also my quicktime said there was no components available...so if you can point me in the right direction anybody I sure would appreciate it..coz I would love to see the animations...glad to see you back in action Glen!!!

Realms of possibility
I don't see your name in the "About" of the Realms of Torment. Why ?
But you are in the news :)

What are we supposed to play the animation with, Glen? I have Windows XP, but my media player says that I don't have a suitable decompressor. I have the latest Media Player (well, not MP 9, but that's still beta anyway).

Hi Ron,
get div X. The anims are saved using DivX 5 codex.
DivX page (http://www.divx.com)

i've noticed that a lot of exported animations are written in DIVX format , www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com)
I needed that codec too when I tried to view animations made in lightwave.
It could be another one , but I am assuming it is the divx codec since the first animation didnt have any problems playing.
I also think you can find the codec at www.download.com (http://www.download.com) , maybe there is a better mirror link :p

Well your work is awesome as usual. The anims are colourful and quality is excellent. Just one question, is there supposed to be sound?? If so I am not getting it.

Hi Glen. I am astonished by your great work.
Did you model the dragon and the wings in
ZBrush? How did you achieve the dragon wings?
I tried to do some but the result is weird!
