Hi, I have been using XSI for a while but I would like to use a modeller other than xsi's. The zbrush site didn't give away to much info on the program so i'm a bit confused to what it actually is. Is it just a modeller? or can you animate and render? Does it work with xsi?
Is it worth learning new software or does it have feature xsi doesnt?
Sorry for all the noob questions :)
Thanks

hi
Perhaps this thread will help you....
its about trying displacements in various programs and xsi is probably in there somewhere.
Zbrush is a awesome program that you can paint 2D, or what they call 2.5D, or you can do 3D as in modelling etc. It is not a full featured 3d modeller but it more than makes up for it with the features it has and does well......check out the features from ZB home page....it lists all the new features of z2 as well as showcases some awesome work done in z2. If that doesn't get the juices flowing for zbrush...nuttin will! :D

its strength is detailing a model that you can use as a bump, displacement, or normal map... it models in a very painterly/sculptural fashion and can be quite powerful... the best use would be combined with traditional packages, make a clean low poly base, render, and animate in other things for example
