Yes, it has no name and no background story. A real John Doe if you will.
Now you may ask yourself, why? Go ahead, ask yourself.

Good!

Well, the reason is simple. I modeled a head, textured it and now I dont know where I want to go with it. So please send in your suggestions. (And no, I'm not planning on keeping his expression this stoic)

Also, I know very little about anatomy. Yes, I know. How dare I model a human head without knowing where the nose goes. Well, I just did and somehow I'll find a way to fall asleep at night. :D

The head looks good (in my opinion anyway) when viewed from the front but as soon as I angle it toward a profile shot, or any other direction for that matter it just looks... wrong!!! Please, lend me your ears and answer my plea mighty Z-Brush warriors. How can I make this mess go away.

Okay, so in a nutshell. I need suggestions and apparently anatomy 101, but I guess I can rely on you guys(and gals) to show me the way.

Here are some REALLY early WIP pics with a 0% drool factor. Hope to change that in the early future. All modeling & texturing Z-Brush, rendering in Max.

First of all, nice job modeling the features. They all look very correct, it's just the positioning on them that needs help (which you have already expressed).

If you can bring the mouth and jaw down a bit, and shorten the nose some, you can greatly improve the overall look, I believe.

I hope you don't mind, I manipulated your profile view a bit in ZBrush to show you what I mean. I did this by projecting the original pic on a 3d plane, divided a few times for resolution, then used the move transformer (W) to pull the picture around.

Slosh: Thank you for the kind words. I believe the main issue lies with the nose. I know something is wrong with it but I dont quite know what. I had a look at the pic you posted. A little different from what I intended but nevertheless a sure sign that my original nose just looks strange. You're probably right about the jaw as well.

In the meantime, crits are more than just welcome, they're compulsory. :D You're internet will self-destruct and the blame for Global Warming will be pushed on you (and martians) should you not comply.

Hi,
the ears need to be lower, they usually begin at the end of the nose and end at the eyebrow.I think the jaw side and the (arfff what the english name for that) well the upside head is to deep but that kinda make character to your model.I really love the texture of the skin.Your model look like the bad guy in terminator 2.I think if you make the shorten nose you will have to reduce the fronthead.Only move the ears down ,sorry slosh:p .
