Hi. My name is Mathew Cooling and I’m a freelance artist. I’ve been Beta testing ZB3 for about a month now and have been very impressed with the new features and especially the amount of polygons it’s possible to work with.

... and his body.

I was in two minds about posting these images as they are still in sections. But I thought I would anyway. There still a little to do on him but he’s mostly there.

VERY cool mixing of surface textures and layering. Thanks for posting these up!
Mxhaunted- Ahh was curious what was to become of Cthulhu model, great to see its getting some ZB3 loving. One day I'll try my hand at something from lovecrafts works. Until then I can enjoy the really nice ones from yourself and anyone else that does his work justice. Its coming along superbly! :tu: :tu:
Great details, and nice subject, i love Lovecraft

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Feureau, he needs to be assembled, rigged… and possibly animated. I want to get him to an animatable (not sure if that is even a proper word) state but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to animate him as I haven’t done much of that kind of thing.

I’ve just added the sucker details and had a quick go at Transposing the model at the lowest poly level. It’s pretty nifty and the higher detail levels update perfectly in ZB3. The only problem is that I would have to render it at a huge resolution to get all the detail to show up! :|

I've seen a few 3d cthulhus but this is by far the best... even when looking at a small portion of him, I can still get a wonderful impression of his gargantuan size... and the way you have detailed him as something more interesting than just a squid headed monster is fantastic

Thanks for the comments guys (BillR excluded :P). Nice to be on the front page again. :)

I had a bit of a mess around with Poly Painting and it’s marvellous what you can do with it. This one is a bit too saturated and a bet too froglike… but it’s amazing how much detail you can get.

Wow. Long time no speaky. Yus, I have been pretty busy Zbrushing of late. It’s just so much fun. :)
Nope, I’m no longer in Games. Very soon I’m starting work at an 3D graphics studio in London working on advertising. So I’ll be a pro Zbrusher. Hoorar! What you been up to? Hope you’ve been doing some Zbrushing.
