View Full Version : Lament....Final... mostly....

I seem to have a lot of "wips" lurking around the harddrive...
This one employs the first ZSphere model I've done - that I thought had enough going for it that I might be able to do something with it. Torso and arms are zspheres; the head is a sphere; tail end is a 3dcircle.
At this stage, I also spent a fair bit of time setting up the lighting.

Nice detailed model. :tu:
The lighting looks good too , the only thing that looks a bit weird is the start of the tail , you can still see where your zsphere's were before unified skinning. But thats maybe because it's still a wip :p
Awaiting the updates :tu: :tu:

:) this is working out well although I have to agree the tail can be improved if you dont mind my saying, I did a couple of snakes with adaptive skinning and the curvature results were pretty cool ;) :tu:

Scared the livin' beejeezus out of me. Very strong character indeed and scary to boot.
There's something about that sucking mouth that gives me the willies.
A Freudian phantasmagoria, and I for one am shook up. Pass me my pills Matron, Bravo and look forward to your final piece :tu:

Thank you for the comments.
I agree with the start of the tail; more work is needed there. That's the beauty of the "wip." ;) Adjust, toss it out, start over, and adjust some more.... Takes time, but that's alright.
I'll update as I go. Thanks again.
Great concept, i'd love to see how this one progresses.

Spent some time adding more elements to the image. Given the title, Lament, got me wondering what she's lamenting?
The torso for the male figure was done some time ago, but never used. The head - which may be changed - was from something from months ago. ZSphere arms for him. His tail made use of Adaptive skinning. With far better results then I got with Unified skinning.
The rocks/ground... spheres and 3dplanes, alpha'd and inflated.

Still tinkering with this one. It's probable that it won't get past this last update, as I'm trying to keep up my habit of having nothing but wips on the go ;)

Looking good! I really like this last render!!
i agree with mentat, really cool :tu:
if you dont mind a suggetion :) you could use the background image as fog template in the fog panel, i think it would work very good ...
Really excellent scene, great modelling on the figures and the rocks are very convincing.

I think its time I left this alone. There is probably more I could do with it. But I'm getting tired of looking at it :D

Thanks :)
This one is, finally, a 100% ZBrush image; and the first reasonably successful use of ZSpheres. Kind of a big step forward for me :)
