Shadows

For some reason shadows arn't being cast on other objects,I'm new so can anyone stear me in a good direction?

Shadows need to be turned on in two places: the Rendering palette, and then each of the lights that you want to case shadows. They also will not be visible except in a Best Render.

You have to have Flatten Layers turned on if you want shadows to be cast across all objects/layers.

just in case the above hints didnt help: another reason might be that theres flat material involved - or that you have baked a layer (which turns it into flatmat and doesnt react to light settings - including shadows - anymore) :)
