Talk about being either brave or stupid. I downloaded Zbrush earlier this month so I could enter a contest.

Any tips appreciated as I am still not sure what I am doing. I am entering the contest at 3dcommune and I have only made a couple things in Zbrush so far.

I'll probably only be amongst a group to tell you this but:
:b2: Check the 'quicklinks at the top of this page.
:b2: Check out the manual at Pixologic.
:b2: DEFINITELY check out the tutorials in the 'quicklinks'
:b2: Then post any specific questions you have here on the forum, and you'll find lots of good people, glad to help you solve any problems you might have.
Hope these start you off! :D

You qualify as brave and VERY SMART! ;)

Sorry if I am redundant to what you may have known, but here goes:

Quicklinks is of course, the goldmine of info.

Use all the ZScripts to "get used" to the Zetiquete of ZBrush. I have found one thing to be true with Z. It is a demanding software and does have rules and etiquete requirements. Cross those lines, and BLAM! crazy things happen. ;)

My first pieces also taught me something else as far as the learning curve.

Have a CLEAR plan of exactly what you want to accomplish, as well as what you want the end results to be upon completion. It's VERY important to know where you are going at all times. ;) :D

And of course, come here, post WIPs for help, and enjoy the ride. :tu:

hey newbie welcome aboard, i wanted to add to kathys info on loading a script, yes zbrush 1.23b does come with some very helpful zscripts that you can load and watch.. but if you find a zscript on this site or other sites that pertain to zscripts they should be in either text form or zip form, zip form is easy to download but the trick to the text form is let it load then click file in your browser and save as,a text file on to your hard drive. put this info in your script folder and walla you know can view the zscript.... hope to see some of your work real soon
