View Full Version : Morning Retreat
All of my images so far have used materials and coloring. This one is almost entirely done with textures. Still not too sure how the texture wraps around certain shapes, but I have a better idea of it now.
I've done a few multimarker tools before, but the chair was a bear to do. After several attempts and lots of re-reading Kruzr's and Aurick's advice on multimarkers, I managed to get it done. Thanks for the great info.

Real fine work, Tami...you're really starting to rock now! :tu: :D :tu:
The blanket and tea service are wonderful, and the chair also. If I were to offer a suggestion, the rocker should maybe be a liitle flatter, but don't let that bother you...this is a wonderful piece, with great atmosphere, and emotional content, which I think of as a major part of the definition of art.
Wonderful! :tu: :tu: :tu: :D :tu: :tu: :tu:
Extraordinarily sweet.
That sunshine looks so warm!
I can hear the chair creak. ;) :tu:

looks like a POV-RAY render (anyone remember that proggie? :) ) it rules, Tag.
the approach I would take to sunshine would be a intensity brush painted through a mask, but I'd really like to hear how *this* one was done. :)

thats awsome :tu:
Hi Tami . . . :)
What wonderful "Eye Candy" you have created there. It's so comfortable looking, although I'm not too much into sitting in a rocker, I think I could adjust to it, if I were given the chance to be in that exact surrounding. :D ;) :D ;) :D
Great image, everything about it! Have a good one . . . Mark.

The quilt and the curtains have a real soft and tactile quality. The chair is a true accomplishment. (Did you polymesh it and save it I hope?) And the sunlight glinting off of the tea set really make me squint  This image captures a great mood.
Look slike a real nice place, Quiet, Serene. It's missing one thing... A comp. with ZBrush on it!

Very nice ! It is nice to see the wide range of topics that appear on this forum. That image was drawn in my Grandmothers room I know that spot very well !
It's a wonderful rocking chair, and a great scene to put it in. My favorite part is the quilt. Just beautiful. I'm glad that you got the multi marker figured out.
I also had to chuckle about your progression with ZBrush. I went the other way, working with textures, first and then all but giving them up to use materials instead. Then I learned how material properties carry through the texture, so now I've started using materials to add imperfections to the textures or otherwise compliment them. Your getting much better, much faster, than ever I did, though!
Superb job!
Thank you for all your compliments. It really means alot to me.
I did save the chair as a ztool. I usually save all my tools and use lots of markers, since I take up to a week or so to do a picture. That way I can always load the tool and go back to whatever point in the picture. When I finish, I save the tools in a folder named for that project, and start fresh making new tools for each picture.
To do the light rays, I used an alpha and fog. I got the idea from the picnic tutorial and my Nebula picture.
http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1003024116dok.jpg
First I used the MRGBZ grabber on grabbed just the window and curtains.
I selected invert on the texture and applied it to 2 plains. One went in the exact location of the window, and one I tapered and put on the ground.
Then I used the simple brush with an alpha, and the stroke set to line to draw the rays.
I grabbed this image with the MRGBZ grabber and applied it to another layer (I use alot of layers). I blurred the image in places and grabbed it yet again.
I used the final texture with a yellowish colored fog during the final render. I'm glad I kept those layers and didn't delete them :)
Christos, I had to try painting the rays like you suggested real quick. It would have been alot easier. I use a mouse and don't have intensity when painting, so the depth was a little off. I think I'll have to play with it a bit.
Thank you all once again ;)
Guess you posted as I was typing, Aurick. Thanks for the compliment, and all the great advice you and Kruzr gave on multimarkers.
As for progress, I've had the benefit of all the great scripts and tutorials from so many of the older members. I know I would have progressed to where I am eventually, but not nearly so quickly without all the great people here at zbrush central!

Tag, I like this image. I am the sort of person who likes his peace. Which is why I find this one so appealing.

you're welcome, Tami. however, I asked because I really didn't know a way to do this, so I guess I have to thank you as well :)
