View Full Version : Making Faces
Hey, here's something fun to try:
In ZB, create a Plane 3D object. Then, import as a texture an image of a face onto the plane. This could be a friend, enemy, stranger, or soon-to-be-enemy.
Then, sculpt, distort,, color and otherwise alter the plane with the 3D and 2.5D tools of ZB. Align the lights to match the lighting in the texture image. Play with the material settings too.
You could import images other than heads or people, but these are obviously my preference…

you will not believe that I hadn't thought of this. ever!

True True.
I've had a number of great successes with that technique.
You can also deal with environmental pics and scenery work.

who would of thounk it... i know ken... love in it ken... thanks for the nifty tip.
Looks like a bunch of us are going to be playing around with ZGoo. Maybe a mini-version should be made, and marketed as "Zoo". (just kidding)
Seriously, this is a really nifty technique, and you do it SO well. My favorite is the alien/demon guy in the lower left. Not only is the original person impossible to identify, but it looks like a photograph of an actor in makeup. Wow!
Hey Ken. This is a seriously good wee exercise! Well done!
Hey dude, I just spotted the name Ken Brilliant in the credits for a certain TV show that has lots of CG animation. Have you been part of a Prop & Terrain Modeling Crew in your career??? This would explain your ease into perfection with ZBrush!
Upham :)
:b4: RE-EDIT :b4: Oh! Just checked out your webpage! You *DID* work on Starship Troopers! Man I love that show! Has it ever come out on DVD?? I've got every episode on crappy VHS!
You've got one hell of an impressive CV there! (hee hee, "Street Trash", Cool splatter film!)
