Hi everyone just wanted to start this WIP this will be for a new series titled Making a Perfect Biped

Heres my Zspheres
zspheres.jpg

And heres the Spheres on lvl 5
model.jpg

I stuck by one rule as I made the video which will be out later this week.

1. Pure Zbrush no other program will be used.

So ya you could imagine how hard it was for me to stick to the rule;)

hey :)

can you please share the ataptive skin which
was generated by that zsphere structure?
(lvl1)

and please tell us about the spheres which
"stick" on the torso and the upper legs....
are those "magnets"; cause i cant see
the chain grayed out?!

This is what we refer to as suspense ;)
I will tell you the settings but I doubt it will help unless you know the method the structure becomes useless.
Ires 1 MC MP buttons on

The magnetic Zspheres are showing because of the level of RBG value I have sat on the model. And the resolution at which I used to make them.

Its more about the flow of resolution than Ires.

Nice to see your progress. This looks like it will be great. I hope you post some stuff the zsphere thread to aid others, when you are ready. ;)

Some poses
details3.jpg

details4.jpg

I could not reach lvl 8 geometry in the videos It was way to much RAM.
But all in all good project. One of thos things that you want too try only because it is more of a trick. I really don't think Zbrush was made with posing your character in mind. The "Adaptive" skin is is very very touchy and must be supported by alot of magnets to pull it off.
But other than the A+ to the scuplting capabilties.

I did find some hidden things about resolution, that I would have never thought of that I will post later. Those magnets can be more powerfull than you think

multi- sub objects using Zsphere.

Very cool stuff;)

Explained further in the last video welp anyway off to render this ;)

Actually, the fewer magnets the fewer issues. (see the thread ;) )

I am new to this site, but was wondering how do you get access to send a private message? I've tried to ask the webmaster, but have not gotten a reply yet.

Hey Jason
Mind if I use some of your joint concepts in a video for the community?
You realeased a few models with the joint resolution settings. Very cool concepts Of course I would credit your thread. I wouldnt be using your models just the core building directions behind the models.

I see what you mean about magnets Gees these little red balls have way to many things. You could teach a semester alone on them.

welp I have held off on the video mainly because it isnt perfect here is design 2

design2.jpg
Much simpler
and some bend tests
design22.jpg

So when dealing with poses looks like resolution has a key factor alot more than I thought.
Thanks Jason BTW
Your thread is very good

Hopefully your going to spend more than an hour with the anatomy. Proportions can be tricky to get right. The zspheres look pretty good so far, the forearm seems to be twisting correctly. Level 8 seems pretty high just for the amount of detail you have. The women looks pretty good for a start. The torso could use work, especially location of the breast (they tend to be 45* off of center and you can draw a isoceles[2 angles are the same I think] triangle from the nipples to the naval), and I think the lats on her back could be a tad bit wider to affect the silhoutte. You could also push the opposing curves at the legs, and arms to help define the shape better.

Use what you like, make sure you post a link on the thread to help people. ;)

Ok
another model test
1. arms bend correctly
2. ok sculpt on the body
3. Great edgeloops on the head
Legs look ok if shes standing still!
I think the rig is good but the content is bad too much geometry change for the rig to handle. Thats my guess anyway.
Maybe a Anime Character since they have skiny legs.

I want to see the wires! Especially at the mouth. That seems like it would be a tricky area to model with zspheres.

You are SO right Womball I think the female jaw and lips are about the hardest part.
I can open the mouth by moving the lowest level ;) It becomes a little stretched but you have to manually sculpt in lines that run from the corner of the mouth to the nose to make it look good.

Looking awesome, CM.

You might want to add a zsphere for the nose. It will allow more varied noses I think and look better topology wise. Not sure how you would make a hole in the mouth with zspheres. Sir Belec would know that.

The mouth opening can be created with a zsphere pushed into the mesh, see the zsphere thread. Plenty of head ideas. Also on the thread, if you want to move the lower jaw, it has been proven over and over to model a bit in the mouth prior. Again, many examples in various guises exist on the zsphere thread to help everyone. ;)

Looking good either way.

Wow talk about knowledge overload
So heres my final beta I will be reproducing in the vid.
I did alot of sculpt and bend tests on it and everything works correctly.
The feet will Never be perfect but since Zsperes like to ALL rotate together the foot will try to rotate with the chain in the wrong axis. I compinsated with a Zsphere that will counter this;) and then another that will repair it.
Its amazing that hands work so well with all the fingers but the foot which is 3 Spheres gives you the hardest trouble.

I have released my beta character to the comunity, and when I am done with everything I will post the grand link to the vid and everything in the Zspere forum and tutorial forum.

Play with the rig if you want wouldn't mind some feedback.
