Hi,

Long time no post. I’ve been busy working and stuff… but mostly working.

I had a small idea last weekend and thought I’d see how far I could take it. This is how far I’ve got so far. I still need to take it to the next level or detail but would like some feedback from you lot.

This is going to be rendered in another package so I’ll put the shirt and jacket into the scene when they are done.

Thanks

Heyas stranger,

Looking yummy to say the least....there was a scene in a Lucio Fulci film, "The Gates of Hell" that a woman sitting in a car puked up her guts like your guy, literally....a very kewl movie to watch.:tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Keep me/us posted on your progress.

Missed seeing your works,

Thanks for the positive response.

Ron, thanks for that link. :) I tripped over a description of that scene on some website while doing some research on internal organs for this image. It sounded truly revolting. The comment on that scene said that the girl had to eat lots of lamb intestines and then regurgitating them to pull it off… but after steadying myself… and then watching the Youtube link I had trouble not busting my gut from laughing too hard. It doesn’t take much of an artistic eye to see the cut between real actress and a puppet having said sheep intestines being pumped through its mouth.

Still… I wish I hadn’t just eaten a lamb curry. :|

I’m glad to be back. I’ve missed not being able to post anything here.

Definitely different.. that movie Gates of Hell brings back memories lmao. Not to mention phantasm and the rest. Nice sculpt so far though if I do say so myself. I'd say though considering what a person would be going through in that moment I'd imagine they would have buggier eyes.. as well as i'd stretch the mouth tad more width wise and add some more girth to the jowls maybe. Perhaps a vein or two on the forehead or temple area of the head to add to the strain put on the person. Overall your off to a really great start.. interested to see how it progresses. Keep it up!!:D

Ode to the lump of green puddy I found in my armpit one mid summers morning eh Lemonnado ;)

Yes, very cool,

it is definitely like "Gates of Hell", by Lucio Fulci( which is actually called "City of the Living Dead, but the U.S. release was called Gates of Hell). It's also sort of a sequel to "The Beyond", which has a Lovecraft reference in it (The Book of Eibon).
Yes, I'm a geek.. I even had the Fangoria "Scream Greats" poster of the guy getting drill-pressed through the head in my room when I was 14. What can I say.
HEY Ron..How's TN? I usually spend the month of May down near Murfreesboro selling my weird sculptures at the TN ren faire. have you been there?

Hey, what App are you rendering it in? If it's Maya, you can assign some Jiggle Deformers to the innards, and they would animate in a really cool way.

Oh that's gross!! but I just finished watching Pan's Labyrinth so I can handle it.
I can see this in the next horror flick...which I won't be watching.

It's well spoken, reminds of the days I spent repenting before the porcelien alter when I use to drink.

Wow! What sushi place did he go to? I wonder what the name of that sushi roll would be: the Gory Nori roll!

Hehe...

Thanks for the comments guys. But an average of 3 stars for the start of this project! Wow! Hard crowd we have here. 0_o

AngelJ, Thanks for your feedback. All noted and will be acted on. :)

Jbakutis, Aha! I saw a clip of that head sawing scene at a club in Soho some years ago. It made me queasy. :/ I’m thinking of rendering it in Modo as I can’t get my head around rendering in Maya. Hope to get a Brom feel to the image. Animating guts would kinda be cool though.

This should be interesting :tu: :tu:

He must have had too much cheap wine.

I've always wondered why people rate the start of a WIP?

Hi,

I started on another detail test… and then got carried away and now I should really be in bed. :|

I’ve added some detail but it’s needs to be taken up a level for the skin to work properly. Real faces are a lot harder to do than monsters, which is why I thought I’d make a face as it’d be a challenge for me.

Feedback is welcome as always.

Thanks muchly

All this talk about gore and intestines reminds me of the scene in Reanimator when the guy's intestines explode out and start strangling Herbert West.

It seems like all the best movie gore I've seen is based on Lovecraft, or at least makes references.

The model is looking pretty cool. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

MXhaunted,

Its coming along nicely.. keep it up! I still would like to see maybe the outside shape of the eyelids to be opened up in a bit more wider and buggier fashion. I think it'll add that extra convincing touch. Could just mask the eye portions and open em up a tad without affecting much else. You got very nice modeling/sculpting skills.. yes human faces are definitely challenging but you seem to be doing a very well done job. Can't wait to see more!!

Bicc39, Erotic?! 0_o

SalmonGod, I’m interested to see what I do with it as well. It seems that much of the time rendering can make or break a model/image. This is very simple but I hope the style of the finished render will bring it around.

AngelJ, Cheers again. I’ve widened the eyes a bit, but as you say, they probably need to be a bit more bugged out. I’m just worried about over doing it and the character ending up carton-ish.

Now looking at it with fresh eyes, I’m not happy with this test. The skin looks too flat. I’ve fallowed what one of the video tutorials said but it never quite turns out right. Any tips on skin detailing?

I’ve enclosed the alpha I used for this one.

A great eye for detail, and equally great sculpting skills as always mate ;)

Once this has some colour added to it, I can see this being truly disgusting, but in a good way!

Mxhaunted,

Overall its a nice sculpt yet it sounds like your wanting lil more to help the face not appear flat? Maybe continue to add a lil more volume in different areas of the face. Around the brow and forehead. Soften some of the crows feet that are resting a lil low on the cheek. Maybe just work a lil more on the contour shape of the peeks and valleys of the face, then keep adding a few more alphas. One alpha you show seems decent, maybe fluctuating some density making a few more passes on the face with it. Also prolly a few more alphas on the ZBC that you might find interesting. Antropus has a few at his sight.. along with a nice clay shader and lights. Maybe adding some negative focal shift in decent intensity with variety of size strokes might help some. Try some with symetry off or move things a lil manually. I'm new to 3D and Zbrush in general but figure lil encouragement and food for thought for a fellow forum member!

I'm diggin it as others obviously are too, you'll get it where you happy with it .. keep it up. Awaiting more updates :tu:
