Figured I better put the warning up incase there are any purists lurking about. This is still a wip. I really like the different things you can do with the brushes in Zbrush, just wish I understood it more. Often I'll do something and can't paint, the brush won't work. I beat on different things and suddenly it's working again. It is very hit and miss with me. Then I had a sword and started on his cape...then because his cape was ending up behind the flowers on the wall I tried to shift the layer and screwed it up totally.PSP layers I understand, these I do not.

The wall, people and bench are from Poser of course... though I'm sure I could've done the wall...umm I think I could have ~G~ It was a gift from a friend so used it. The clothes he has I used the adventure set as a base, then changed it to what I wanted. Her dress from scratch. (needs work) the ugly plate, apples and urn mine ~L~ I can't model worth beans. I'll shut up now. It's only nerves that has me babbling, first pic here and all. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1008150626xfv.jpg

Its a good picture, and I shouldn't worry too much about strange things happening. I've been using Zbrush for sometime, and when tired often find I'm trying to paint on the layer that isn't selected or other things go wrong because I've got the settings wrong. There is a lot to remember in ZBrush, but it's gradually getting easier.
Dave.

Hi DLee,
Not bad at all ;) you'll find some more info on Layers visiting the quicklink section...
HERE (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000049)
Scroll down to the Layer section...

Thanks everyone. Actually I live in the quicklink section ~S~ Going over and over them finding new gems each time I go there it seems. Just layers seem to each have their own depth and that screws me up.

this one is a hit, not a miss, DLee! :D take it easy, Dave is right: you’ll get used to the most important things to pay attention to within very short time!

one tip as long as you are not used to the layers-management: placing markers for each object and placing the objects on single layers allows you to redo the positioning with ease. clean the layer (command n, select the tool you want to redo, click on the marker - zap - here it is again! hit w, gyro appears and by dragging the cursor outside outside of the gyro moves the object in front (upwards=towards the background; when it disappears you cut through the clipping plane and should drag the other objects in front).
