We recently put a new site online for a racing team that we're sponsoring.

For the intromovie we used a 3D car made by a friend of mine. The whole thing was made in lightwave. That friend mailed me the .obj file in order to try and texture it in Zb with the main sponsor's logo. Importing the object is no prob.
but when I start rotating it parts turn black and simple logic is telling me that it can't be because those parts are poking through the canvas layer (parts further away are visible??). Anyone any idea?

What's happening is that polygons are single-sided by default. This car model was designed to be looked at from the outside and above. Viewing from below, the polygons simply don't exist.

To make a polygon double-sided, just press Tool>Modifiers>Double

Thanx Aurick,
you're one hell of a carmechanic!
Problem solved.

You may also like to try hitting divide once or twice and then turning up smoothing to get a "tighter" smoothed look.

Not the "divide" slider, but Divide under Deformations part of the tool.
