View Full Version : A weird thing about the Gear3D
I've found that when I un-smooth the look of the Gear3D using the Sv and Sh, those buttons works in an unussual manner - the Sv smooths what the Sh should have smooth and vise versa. (I mean, as compared with it's function in similar tools such as the spiral3D or the Ring3D) it is also inconsistent with the ctrl-help-popup of the SDivide and LDivide in the Initialize section of the Gear3D.
very suspicious!
another thing about the gear3D- I think that the graphs in the Initialize palette, like the 'Inner section', 'Outer Section', etc, should be consistent to the direction of the sliders which is "right side is +" and "left side is -" so it'll be easier to predict how those graphs are gonna change the shape. So, the Right side of the Inner Section graph should change the deepest part of the teeths, since (+Z) is deeper. Is there anyone who understand what I'm sayan? well, nevermind

Hi Uriash
Are you the spanner in the works ? ;)
Pilou
"the spanner in the works"? What does it means? I havent reached so far with my English.. But let me guess. o.k., my guess is that it is something that once caught your attention, It wont stop interupting you. Am I near?
ok, I have another spanner if thats so..: why isnt there a "remove" button in the tool palette as there is in the Texture Palette? like, if I dont wont to see some ugly shape that I made in the tool palette any more, Do I really have to restart ZBrush?
I know that when playing ZScripts you first get to initialize the UI and get rid of all the tools you made, but is there a way to do so without opening a ZScript?
Well, as a conclusion, I think there has to be a "remove" button in the tool palette, and an "Initialize" button in the upper-right corner of the interface. now what dya say about dat?

Hi Uriash
My dictionnary give me
"un grain de sable dans l'engrenage", a spanner in the works;
Litteraly "a grain of sand into the gear" :)
Yes you right gear tools is some complex to initialise but nonetheless useful :)
Pilou
For the tool palette don't remove just create a new tool and save that you interest.
"un grain de sable dans l'engrenage".. hmmm.. In Hebrew it is "Makel Bagalgalim" I suppose, which means "a stick in the wheels"

just ctrl drag the initialize anywhere you want it and anything else you want that will drag and hit store configuration or save as custom configuration.

Hi Uriash
Exactly
Hi Gary
I think ctrl drag is used for moving tools to be a floating menus. What I'm looking for is a way to permanently get rid of objects I made from the tools pallete, so they wont be there even if I enlarge it to watch the whole arsenal of tools and brushes.
Preferences>Initialize :D
Thanks aurick,
Now thats almost satisfying me, but still I think that a "remove tool" button is needed, cause with the initialize we will cut all the new tools. We can, though, save tools or change the custom UI but thats a too long story..
and what about my comments on the ring3D thing? no response?
